Hymer a class windscreen replacement by autoglass

The two fitters that came out today were supposed to be professionals but instead they lied to me. I've no faith in them.

Psv glass have fitters in east kilbride apparently and can use the bus garage local to me to fit it in so I'm just waiting on the quote being emailed from them to clear it with allianz.
If that gets approved I think I'd rather get them to fit it.

Autoglass don't deserve the business as they've done nothing but give me the run around and then lie to try and cover it up.

Fully agree Tam, if ours needed doing I would also try my best not to use Autoglass too, after your ordeal, unless of course it was the German firm we went to.

I've just lost all faith in them Paul
And the guy from psv so far has done the opposite and gone out his way to try and be helpful.
Hopefully that continues and he does the job.

The German outfit sounds so much better I've heard other folk on Facebook say the same thing

Maybe it's just the Scottish branch of autoglass but that's no way to run a business. It will be interesting to see how my formal complaint goes

Yep that may be who are doing it nmbut they will come to me and use the bus garage around the corner for shelter to do it in

Just to mention, did you advise the people you spoke to that you were recording the conversation before you started? I nearly ended up in deep s**t a couple of years ago when half way through a conversation to an insurance advisor, I mentioned me recording it and was straight away passed to someone else who read me the riot act re recording. Fine for them to do it for training but not fine for me to do it apparently with out getting some court paper saying I was authorised to do so.

Yep I told them 2 out of the 4 times

My phone records every conversation now automatically

"Under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (RIPA), it is not illegal for individuals to tape conversations provided the recording is for their own use."

I'm like you Tam, can deal ok with most things BUT the lies i hate n really wind's me up big time. Maybe you should mention this forum to them & haw many thousands of people are reading about their company!!!Can you hang a punch bag somewhere!!! Might help.:rolleyes:

I’m sorry you’re having so much trouble with your screen, auto-glass were fantastic when we had our screen fitted. Hubby did ring them originally and booked it over the phone stressing that it was a Motorhome not a car and they sent out the Motorhome team-of 2 bods-and they did a really good job!
Maybe as you’ve said it’s just that particular branch!

Yeah the constant lies and being given the run around just winds me up and I really don't need the stress at the minute I've enough of that with mum I just wanted a damm crack repaired before it got worse

Think that's why I just prefer doing things myself and if I could in this instance I'd just repair it myself and be done with it.

I had a new screen fitted at home by Autoglass a few months ago on my Hymer B678 A class. Got to say, they were first class! I phoned Comfort who put me straight through to Autoglass' Norwich branch who were meticulous in asking for full details - including, photographs of both the damaged area and full screen for identification of left-hand wipers, and so on.

They told me it could be two weeks to get one from Germany but, in the event, it was about a week and was a genuine OEM screen. I received emails throughout the wait and on the day, a text stating that the fitters would be with me within 30 mins.

I watched them remove the old screen and fit the new one from start to finish and was impressed with their workmanship. I particularly watched them apply the bonding mastic to make sure that there were no gaps and an even run around the screen and wiper gaitors. The fitters stressed not to move the vehicle for at least two hours or, bett still, 24 hrs. Very professional in all respects.

We went to N Yorks and the Lakes two days later for three weeks and had very mixed weather - including some torrential downpours...no problems at all! For me, it was a big thumbs up for my local Autoglass and, of course, Comfort Insurance.

Well they were rubbish for me

And that's enough to not entertain them again
