Hymer a class windscreen replacement by autoglass

Tam, make sure your van is as level as you can make it while they replace the screen.... any twisting of the van if not level may result in a stressed screen when your out and about.

Hmm not impressed with autoglass so far.

Windscreen supposed to be fitted tomorrow.

I hadn't heard from them since an initial email last week saying they had received the booking but would be in touch.

So I phoned them at 3pm today to make sure it was still happening.

Girl said yes it's booked for tomorrow did no one text you.

I said nope but if it's still booked that's ok have you any idea of time.

She says no but I'll have someone phone you within the hour with a time slot as it's a specialist team coming out.

7.30pm and nope not heard a thing.

I hope when they come out they are better

Deary me I know I'm grumpy but I'm really not impressed by these lot so far.

I called again at 10.15 and was told they would speak to the technician and phone me back in 5 minutes.

It's now 10.53 and no call

So that's 3 times now I've been told I would be called by autoglass and 3 times they haven't called.

They sent me a customer "how did we do " survey yesterday.
Despite not even fitting the damm thing yet and while your on hold on the phone the recording is bumming them up about autoglass having fitted ex amount of windscreen last year and how customer satisfaction is their goal


So far


I ain't impressed, and it's raining buckets here at the minute.



I do however thanks to a tip from a member on here have all 3 of my calls to them recorded :)
 
Totally fed up with these idiots


I've now had some guy from Bedford phone and say it's not being fitted today it's being done tomorrow

4 times I've called them now since yesterday I've an email staying appointment was today and 2 recorded calls saying appointment was today.
 
Auto glass fitted ours inside the local bus garage. :restmycase:

Totally peed off with them Paul

The guy from psv glass that's supplying the windscreen and is on the hymer owners group said he could come fit it if I cleared it with safeguard.

I've just phoned them to check and to.make them aware of the autoglass saga and they've said I could do that but It would be treated as a claim and have to be put to the underwriters for approval etc which could take a while or I could pay for it and claim it back from underwriters or I could let autoglass continue as planned and she would start a complaint procedure with autoglass on my behalf.

Because I just want the bloody job done hassle free I've opted to continue with autoglass and hopefully the fitters are better than the customer service team.

I will be seeking an apology at least and compensation at best from autoglass for my wasted day and frustration.

That's how I'd posted this last week looking for folks experience of them.

It's frankly ridiculous ...I wish I could post the recorded calls because the last one really takes the biscuit.

The way this is going Tam, the correct screen will be in the branch but will they fetch it with them tomorrow.
 
We had our A class double glazed cab side windows(both sides) replaced this year by Autoglass, dealer paid, absolutely professional from start to finish, with correspondence, direction, dedicated motorhome service points with own water supply and hook up point.

Brilliant service from start to finish, highly recommend. They also do all A class windscreens.

Does that mean they are not suppling a genuine Hymer screen, I would not be happy with that.
 
I was and am more than happy with the non OEM windscreen that Autoglass provided and fitted to my 2012 Hymer b585. It fitted perfectly, right down to the alignment of the holes in the screen being bang on central for the 3 window wipers (which they even supplied new sheaths for). It does exactly what one would expect from a windscreen.

Going by the hymer owners group lenny psv seems to be the point of choice for hymer windscreens. They seem to supply them to most places.
 
I told autoglass to do one after a similar saga and confirmed with my insurance that I would pay PSV then claim it back. I drove to their Manchester depot and they brought me back to Leeds in one of their vans, later that day another team took me back to the depot. All done undercover in a nice warm warehouse and a genuine Hymer screen. Couldn't fault them or their work.

The guy from psv seems very professional he's actually told me he could come fit the windscreen here at any time that suits me and is happy to wait for payment till I got it from insurance company.

Part of me is tempted just to do that but I just want the job done I'm starting to wish I hadn't bothered lol
 
Do you have an excess that you have to pay them at the time of fitting ? If so give them some of their own medicine and offer to pay tomorrow and so on.

Yeah I do the woman tried to get that over the phone yesterday and was promptly told that wasn't happening till the job was completed
