I must have had aAccording to the official documentation describing the United Kingdom, [I last looked at it around 2015, so subject to 'IIRC'!], Northern Ireland was described as a Province; according to a resident of Northern Ireland with whom I was 'ahem,'in discussion' at the time, N.Ireland was subsequently described as a country, in a bid to defuse the tensions surrounding the Good Friday Agreement. Fewer arguments arise when the constituents of the UK are merely referred to by their names, and the status, disputed or otherwise, is omitted.
