Going tubeless

I’ve just read some info on the Oko sealant.

It said you need 1.25 lts for a ride on mower.

Does this seem a lot.

Didn’t see anything about bike tyres.
Was your OKO ford called OKO Magic Milk Hi-Fibre? Post #109 has a link to cycle tyre sealant reviews & OKO’s made it to the list of those reviewed.

I've seen values from 50 to 120ml per tyre. A ride on mower has 4 large tyres.

If it’s 50 or 60ml then that’s similar to Stans for a 27” tyre.

I thought ride on mowers were small wheels 😊
Mind you I’ve never had a garden big enough to own one 😂

Possibly the same volume but oko is a lot cheaper and lasts a lot longer in the tyres.

Ride on mowers have wide wheels but maybe small radii.

Is it OKO Magic Milk Hi-Fibre being discussed or a mower specific OKO product?

I posted my thoughts on tubless earlier in the thread and a picture of the kit I carry for on he hoof repairs..
Up until now I've never had a flat..the puncture always sealing very quickly..
Well sods law..it had to happen one day.. Got a fair piece of metal which carved a gash in the tyre.. It went flat very quickly and I lost all the sealant..
So I got to try the plugs I carry and the spare sealant and a co2 cartridge..which has got me home..👍
I suspect I'll need another tyre but if it stays up I'm going to ride it for a bit and see how the repair holds up..
Picture of offending article and plugged tyre...which I haven't trimmed yet..

I've read that is it possible to seal the inside of tyre with a puncture repair patch - clean the area of sealant and apply the patch.

Definitely an option but as I won't be going to far on the bike in the next few weeks I'm thinking I'll see how the repair holds up on shorter rides.. The tyre is reasonably worn ..but I may do as you suggest if I'm planing any longer rides ..
👍

Just wondering if you could plug it with a car tyre repair mushroom 😊

Worms are pretty good for sealing large holes, i use the Maxalami kit that comes with several sizes and the worm tool, basically the same principal as the car type. Stans DART is a little different but is getting good reviews.

I was thinking more long term.
So when you get home you can put a mushroom in.
Fits from the inside and you vulcanise it.

They should be ok long term. I use a kit where I cut a bit of rubber and cover in patch glue. Then push n pull into the hole and trim. Seem ok.

as far as I’m aware worms and darts should last the life of the tyre and they avoid tyre removal which the whole point really
