posted on social media by a friend..

if this is you - EFF OFF.

If it isn’t but you are thinking about travelling YOU ARE currently NOT WELCOME.

Soooo sorry people, may contain adult angry words!!!

I'm ******** seething right this minute as a big campervan just came up our drive turned round & came back down... with me waiting!!

SO58 ABF
Big Red Van!!
Heading south now i believe.

"We're not lost now i think" he says reading his map!

When i informed him that we are still in lockdown his wife mumbled something like "you're the only one we've spoken to today" and something else as they sheepishly began driving off!

What the actual duck is wrong with these people?

Tried to phone it in & can't get through to Police Scotland!
They're overwhelmed apparently!
Not ducking surprised!

Nicola... please shut the borders & police them!!

We all want tourists & to be tourists... JUST NOT NOW!!!
Talk about jumping to conclusions ! Pathetic response as a result of seeing a camper van being driven on a road.

I drove over 330 miles through the South of Scotland yesterday, mainly on motorways and saw only one motorhome, it was heading north on the M 74. I was taking a patient to Edinburgh for cancer treatment and had the opportunity to do a circular route to see what was going on elsewhere. Roads were all very quiet, even very little freight moving on what are normally really busy routes through central Scotland. Police presence was higher than normal, couple of vans pulled for speeding on the M 74.

Didn't realise Jim had employed any moderators?

You’re correct Gromett Jim hasn’t employed me as a moderator, but I’m not willing to stand by as various comments are posted which some may find offensive and certainly against the culture of the group (to be inclusive, welcoming etc).

It might be worth some of you read the Club rules if you haven’t already done so.

I have long suspected a number of members of motorhome fun have views that are not within the green or even the yellow squares of the Media Bias chart

Well I perceive myself to be borderline Green/Yellow box but very out of kilter with majority of views I see expressed on here.

So basically, some people have different views?

Groundbreaking stuff mate ;)

Some people believe the world is flat.
Should Flat Earthers should be given the same level of consideration as those that believe otherwise. ?
No harm in different views, as long as they are within the boundary of acceptable views.

Pass 🤷‍♂️

I'll let someone else decipher your message.

Now there's a can of worms...

Why shouldn't flat earthers have due consideration? All "facts" are actually just our current understanding. After all, in 1975, wasn't it a fact that Jimmy Saville was a fine upstanding & cherished member of society?

Please let’s not go down that route

I think it's an age thing

With more than a sprinkle of dementia
And 2 drops of Alf Garnett

Baked for 30 or 40 years , and taken with way too much cheap wine.

Well travelled over to Lytham, parked up on Beach road outside clients very fancy apartment with a typed note Explaining where I was. On return to van uniform stood near, he started conversation by asking how long I was staying told him on my way now, he then told me that they were having issues with overnighters staying on the front car park but as long as they cleaned up they were not being moved. The issues were with people not keeping the car park tidy, he said 2 or 3 were just leaving black bags of rubbish when they left. Suffice to say he wasn’t bothered about me.
Yes quite right I went for a cycle ride from home vai Freckleton to St Annes and Blackpool south and counted 38 Motorhomes, now before anyone gets defensive can you explain why 1. They had the curtains drawn. 2. They were cooking breakfast, 3. They had dumped the grey waste on the kerbside. 4 The kids were off to the beach before breakfast with balls etc.
Wish I had taken my camera /phone to name and shame
Is it any wonder we get a bad press, is it not time we put a sign in the window along the lines of * responsible driver and passengers, not overnighting just enjoying your are and will be moving on asap.*

But were they social distancing as that really is the most important part.

I'm not getting why it's any more of a risk for someone to travel somewhere in a car or motorhome and stay there from 8am to 9pm with lots of other people about. Than at 9pm to stay in their van themselves till morning.

The risk has already happened during the day .....not overnight with no one around.

And that's probably why there are people not abiding by it.

That and the people who are making the rules repeatedly breaking them.

It is not your job or mine to tell people what they can or can't post. If you find a post offensive then report it. I would suggest that assigning yourself a moderator role and telling people on here what they can and cannot post is overstepping your bounds and likely to rub people up the wrong way. If everyone started telling others what they can and can't post this place would become something quite different. I trust Jim's moderation and rules. It is for him to slap us down when we veer too far from his rules not members like you or I.

And yes I am familiar with the rules.

Personally I agree but I understand the need at the moment not to stay overnight

I live in Hampshire but my van number plate is from Kent. Just saying. He could have travelled to Scotland to buy the van last year. I was always taught, never assume.
Never assume anything. It makes an ASS out of U and ME!

I don’t think you should have posted that
