Go Home!

I will be interested to see if I get a reaction tomorrow when I have to travel from my home to Lytham A journey of 50 miles each way in my motorhome, (only vehicle I own) to visit a client for work. I will have to park it outside his home on the front at Lytham so I can’t wait to have a conversation with any moralising nosey Parker or uniformed person.

Yup, got a pal who works for NHS and only vehicle is a MoHo.. gets abuse for driving it to work and has signs all over explaining in the hope it doesn’t get vandalised.

Selfish folk going on wee trips because it’s obviously OK for them or deciding the highlands were a great place to go in a pandemic are mostly to blame for the increased dislike and intolerance of motorhomes - which hacks me off no end.

I would think Jim allowed it as he believes in reasonable free speech?

I don’t know where you live but would suspect if it was in a rural Covid free location you wouldn’t appreciate folk from who knows where driving way more that the advised limit of 5 miles for exercise only - to take their motor home for a jolly? Potentially delivering a nasty virus to an area with limited NHS capacity?

I dunno, maybe you and the others whining on about the OP don’t care about other people’s health. Maybe you don’t care about the damage selfish trips like this do to the image of people with motorhomes- already tarnished by inconsiderate behaviour.

If you think this is purely a Scottish problem then take your MoHo to Cornwall or Wales just now and see what kind of welcome you get.

BTW - the MoHo in question was I believe registered in Edinburgh, the occupants had English accents as do a great many ‘locals’ here, but getting lost where they did means they weren’t local....

Stay at home a while yet if you want welcomed back... please.
Yes Scotland, Cornwall, Wales, Lake District....some worse than others. Sort of places that want the tourist dollar but don’t want the tourists...want to live in some kind of utopian idyll where money and economy don’t matter until they find their children have no jobs and have to leave their communities and live in more enlightened parts of the country...never to return. Be careful what you wish for...the tourists may find other destinations more welcoming and less blinkered and again never return.

As I’ve mentioned in another post we need far fewer moralising lock down loving virtue signalling luvveys ...wallowing in judging and rebuking others for their moral failings....you don’t know their circumstances..And even if you did..it’s a free world....it’s nothing to do with you..people make their own risk assessment...if you've decided the risk outweighs the benefit and are so petrified of catching Covid stay indoors ! And that goes for your friend too....and indeed anyone...others have made a different assessment, want to live life and should be free to do so.

And just to lighten things up a bit here’s a post of a picture of RobbyMClark that he posted in the thread “Should I screw in a shower” Now that SHOULD be banned....puts everything into perspective....literally.

I think I’ll post that picture on any thread that gets too heavy, I’m sure he wouldn’t mind 😊

These are the same people who put nasty messages on cars with disabled badges when they think someone isn’t disabled simply because they didn’t get into a wheelchair when they got out of the car.

it’s ignorant intimidation, doesn’t match the facts or the law. Makes us feel unnecessarily upset
Can anyone remember the Lancaster bomber (no the plane).
You could always get gun turrets similar mounted on the motorhome.

Remote areas, anywhere in the Country (or even World) will have limited health care capacity and anyone living there will have to travel for specialist health care - to busy towns and cities

It is only just being realised what the other effects of Covid19 are having on other serious health issues because folk are not being treated (in almost empty hospitals) and the mental strain of being isolated, increase in domestic and child abuse.

In this Country you are free to lockdown completely if you want or need to. If strangers come into your area do you have to come in contact with them? - just stay at home and deal with lockdown as it suits you.

I live in a tourist town and we have been invaded by the hordes from nearby Wolverhampton which is a CV hotspot.

They have left piles of litter in the parks and on the river banks for someone else to pick up, increasing the risks to everyone who indirectly comes into contact.

I am staying on my sofa at home.

IKEA still have me on their Banned list" 😲😲😲😲😲😲

Cv-19 is coming to a place near You sooner or later , The lockdown is in place to slow the spread not stop it ,
herd immunity is most likely the only way to defeat this terrible virus, we Are a united Kingdom & should be fighting the virus not each other , so come on guys less of the border Bitching & more compassion for all of our people regardless of accent or location 🙏

Just a thought, If and when a vaccine arrives how long will it be before some will be raveing about side effects and refusing it for themselfs or their children? You cannot force someone to have it unless you change the law. I would bet that if it comes Scotland gets it before the rest of the uk. As I said just a thought opinions!

Calm down lads.

So a Scottish registered MoHo arrives somwhere else in Scotland and gets lost. The complainant assumes the occupants are Engish. So what?
Wonder how many Scots living in England with English registered MoHos have done similar?

The original quote was way to aggressive and insulting for the 'crime'

EDIT - just re-read the complaint. Can't see where it says they were English
I am a Scotsman living in England with a Moho...... I have never got lost...just occasionally have gone a different way to the one expected.....:LOL::LOL::LOL:

So,

I took my motorhome accross the road to a repairer.

Unfortunately, that meant driving almost a mile as a width restriction prevents me from driving a few yards.

Anyway, Whist i was driving back, I thought I would fill the tank to prevent the diesel bug.

Anyway, as I was about to fill up. Some woman shouts from the passenger seat of a car......

“WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ON F***ING LOCKDOWN”

Say no more
I'd have replied so wh.let your

Yeah scotland has always been the guinea pigs .....like the poll tax

Personally neither myself or my mother are interested in a vaccine. She's already stated she isn't taking one...she doesn't take the flu one either.

And people should be very very wary if the powers that be try to make in mandatory

We nearly all break rules or laws, but in general believe the ones we break, it's ok to do so, because it's a stupid law and shouldn't be one. We are often intolerant and judge without knowing all the facts, some people on here would string people up for driving, having forgotten to close the tap on their waste tank.
Finally, the picture of man in shower should be used by bath manufacturers, cover yourself in water never look like this again.
Finally Finally. Wolverhampton, are they really from Wolverhampton or do they just live there. Littering is just a law that doesn't apply to them and should be permitted. If you break one rule then it's ok for them to do the same. Have you ever done 31mph in a 30mph area. Picked up a coin you found in the street. I hate bloody littering they should be shot.

Can I ask why ?
I'm not interested in taking a rushed through vaccine for something that makes less than 1% of people critically ill or die.
I prefer to rely on my own immune system.
And as there will likely be lots of different strains of it it seems pointless
I wasnt vaccinated against measles, mumps or rubella either ....I've had measles and mumps and now have natural immunity.

My mum has her own reasons

Proff whitty said himself last week the majority wont get this virus, of those who do many wont know they have had it , of those who get it most will experience mild symptoms and be fine after a few days ....of those who get it less than 1% will become critically ill and a small percentage will die.

Vaccinate everyone another strain will just come along anyway ....

Ill take my chances......I may already have had it

Thats an interesting perspective.

Someone from Scotland doesn’t want people going there as it may put a drain on the NHS.

But happy to put extra drain on local NHS services if they got Covi or any other flu when a vaccine is found 🤔

Happy to be corrected if I’ve read it wrong.

We filled up Moho last week as fuel cheap- no problems. Took her to Stafford yesterday for a pre booked repair stopped at Cannock chase on way home had lunch went for a walk ( German cemetery stunningly lovely - who knew it was there’s? Not us anyway) not a single issue... think the abuse is few n far between when out n about tho it was obvious we were not staying over ...

My van is booked in for an mot next Tuesday at 08.30
That's an ungodly hour I'm seriously considering sleeping in the van in the garage yard the night before 😁
After its mot I'll be taking it a run to kirkcaldy to fill up with lpg and diesel. Theres only one thing that it may fail on and that's a very small cut on one of my new tyres ......if it fails I'll have to drive it to Falkirk to get a tyre fitted as the local branch doesnt have one.
I wonder how many dirty looks I'll get on that trip.

should not fail if its a small cut and does not expose the cords, put a spot of superglue in it

It's on the sidewall....caught it on a kerb but doesnt look very deep , I'm hoping it doesnt fail as the tyre is only been on the van 9 months and not moved the last 5
But will see what happens

from mot inspection manual
The following criteria should be used when assessing a cut in a tyre:

  • any ply or cord that can be seen without touching the tyre - fail
  • if by folding back rubber or opening a cut with a blunt instrument, so as not to cause further damage, exposed ply or cord can be seen irrespective of the size of the cut - fail
  • if a cut which is more than 25mm or 10% of the section width whichever is the greater, is opened with a blunt instrument and cords can be felt but not seen - fail
Before failing a cut, you must make sure it’s the cords that you can feel not a foreign object. If you’re not sure, then you should pass and advise.

Stick a couple of these in the back window 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 That will test the temperature of
your fellow countrymen. 😬
To be honest from what I've seen of the little Hitler's it wouldn't matter what flag I had .....theres been more successful division and scaremongering achieved

Theres a girl who works in st John's hospital west lothian who lives in her van fulltime been getting no end of hassle from people ....folk threw eggs at her van the other night

I've been following her thread on fulltime van dwellers

That's good then ...looks like it should be ok

I was born in Northumberland and family came from Shetland many years ago. I have always felt the natural border was the route of his wall.
Fortunately he never finished it
