Germany/Austria August/September information sharing.

They are still here as we are! We have decided to spend a further day here and already some vans have had to turn away as the place is rammed. Neat little town too.
Keep Safe.
We are doing the same thing in Ochsenfurt Stellplatz, we did drive to Kitzingen for lunch yesterday, but there was definitely no room at the inn. We tried both campsites and Stellplatz, not wanting to drive far we returned here where I suspect there will always be space as there are no services, I’ve certainly stopped in less attractive locations.

Loving the thread, thanks everyone for putting up such lovely info and pictures.

D I need to do anything with regards to Covid forms or tests driving from France into germany.

Hi Jock, our neighbours have advised against a visit to Wurzburg ATM as it’s a covid hotspot. Naturally the Germans may have a different definition of a hotspot, so do your own research.
Too late John. 😉

Just as we were 200 metres from the Wertheim slip road off the Autobahn, the Boss changed her mind and decided that we should go straight to Wurzburg. Straight on the parking area with bags of room, just off Dreikonenstrasse. €12 per 24hrs.

Re Wurzburg being a Covid hotspot, I can see why that might be the case, with most of the youngsters not complying with the rules, despite yellow signs everywhere advising of such.
The two Germans I spoke with yesterday didn't think that Wurzburg was a hotspot, but I did read somewhere of 50 cases per 100,000.

Cheers,

Jock. 🙂

The covid form on the gov website needs completing 48 hours before returning to the uk.
We didn't even get asked if we had completed the form.
Enjoy

I'm ready for the return to the UK, I was wondering if I'm OK to just cross into Germany from France without a form or test.

UK 69.3 up by 2.9
Germany 25.8 up by 0.4
Italy 33.5 Down 0.1

So are we likely to quarantine Germany once they hit 30 - or is it ok because we’re double that?

Ayrshire currently 21-24 depending on where you are so Germany feeling like a safe bet.

Can anyone suggest a cheap field type CL on the way to the M25 after coming out of the tunnel at Folkestone? We will be crossing Belgium during the day but home is in Yorkshire so we don't fancy another long drive the same day. We usually use the field at Newsole Cottage at Whitfield (Dover) on the way out but that would mean going back to Dover.

I cant see a justification for preventing germany Q14 travel if they are less than us.

Unfortunately pretty much the whole of Europe was less than us on June 15th when they opened up but UK FCO advice was still that it was unsafe to travel, so unfortunately your guess is as good as anyone elses.

I have heard a rumour that the EU are considering 50 as the non Q14 travel point between their countries. How true a rumour it is I dont know

Rocked up at the Chunnel 2.5hrs early got on train 1hr early only thing we where asked is your gas turned off. Wirral goes in lockdown from tomorrow 🙄🙄🙄

We have booked our Tunnel for Saturday morning, and providing I get a decent data signal, will complete the online forms on Thursday sometime.
The last fuel top up will most likely be Aachen, or thereabouts.

Cheers,

Jock. 🙂

We rang a CL and they stated they wouldn't accept anyone coming back from anywhere on the continent.
We stayed on motorway services just as you get on M20, it was only 4 miles from the tunnel. It was £20 for 24 hours. Motorhomes park in caravan bays, it was ideal.

The problem is that if on a late crossing, you can't get in after 20.00 hrs. 😕

Cheers,

Jock. 🙂
You can park outside the gates if late
Unsure if it is still only 50p a night because of CV at the moment. Normally 7 nicker

Another very hot day here at Oettingen and the weekenders have left with spaces now available. We're going to stay a bit longer as very peaceful and neat little town

On the road to Aachen now. Just stopped for lunch. Any tips on where to stay around Aachen tonight? We're carrying on Eastward towards Dresden, hopefully not so busy in East Germany.

We stopped at the camp site in Aachen, €17 a night all inclusive, right in town and Aachen was very nice, not far to the Autobahn in the morning.

Just had 11 days in Germany, arrived at Eurotunnel, asked by border force where we had been and if we had filled in Return to GB online form....replied yes. He then asked why if we had only been to Germany, he didn't know if forms were needed if returning from a 'good' country or not.
Everybody seems to be confused 🤣😷

We arrived at tunnel and after wasting our time filling out forms that will never be used, were not asked about them, at all. After providing my passport number I didn't see the point in providing duplicate informaion :unsure:We'll see if I get a phone call?

Top man, my kinda price. But we've found a beautiful free picnic area 2 miles from J2. Just settling down to a pint of lager and a packet of crisps
Life is good Lenny :drinks: :drinks: :drinks:

But passports dont have home addresses in them, only an option to add emergency contact details of a friend or relative

Well, it was clearly established when we arrived that we were staying at Wurzburg for two nights, so why is it then that when I was just about to crack a Weissbier to have with my lunch, that A.N. Other decides that we should upsticks and make our way to Rothenburg? 😲 Gordon Bennett.
I have to assume that as one doesn't do any of the driving, it's okay to change one's mind at any opportunity. 😏
I don't recognise the Stellplatz, and after speaking with a very nice lady German neighbour, it's because we are not at the one closest to the Zentrum, which she and her husband visited, but was apparently rammed. No problems, as we are only 15 x minutes walk from the centre. Apart from the continual use of the Stellplatz by Motoring Schools training motorcyclist pupils, (same at Ingleheim), which is ongoing, it is much quieter than the other Stellplatz. Again, €12 plus €1 for water, no EHU.
AND NO..... I didn't park here intentionally.
