Don't know if you know. But there's a car park bang in the centre of Nerja townwhich is a great place to stop for a few nights. If you go there don't pay at the machine, if you're staying for more than one night. Go to the attendant in the booth.

Overnights are allowed we stopped last week , great location for town , 15e 24 hrs .

You're right they did in 2023 and issued fines. But it's back on as BigGandher said .

That was my understanding as well

Must admit we were really disappointed with Nerja last year. We have friends who love it. In fact my old practice manager’s parents have a place there so she’s been going there since it was a tiny place! We stayed at Cabopino for two weeks in Feb, mind you we really don’t get the appeal of that place either other than the onsite restaurant being OK.
Nerja is bland, like Benalmadena and all those other purpose built white resorts. There is still a very tiny old bit up the hill. Nice beach and I suppose that’s what the majority of people go for. Boardwalk that goes for miles.

If the sun is shining I bet you two will find good food somewhere even if it’s next to your van.

The town may been disappointing but the sunsets and sunrise are spectacular.
This is what it's all about, enjoying the view drinking coffee eating pan de tomate.

Ah yes! Our first week was cold and wet so I think that may have tainted our opinion.

There is a campsite 1/2 hour walk-in, but it's full.
Looking at other spots before we get to nerja, but if nothing comes up, we will try the carpark in the town.

Look what poped up on my memories.
4 years ago when we where based in whitchurch and obviously locked down because of covid.
The only thing that kept us sane was walking in the country and baking.
Got to love a nice bit of cake.

Well, after checking most of the campsites and paid aires, everyone is full.
We have arrived in Nerja parking in the centre of town €15 a night but it has lots of bars, restaurants and shopping.
I think our budget just went out the window

I remember we did the 12th February a few years ago and we got a extra plate of food which was a lobster tail, we where his guinea pigs for valentines night
