We are currently in the south of France and noticed some v long queues at petrol stations this am. Our neighbour where we have stopped has made us aware that the refineries have walked out on strike so no fuel is making its way to forecourts

I was wondering if anyone is aware how long this might be going on for ???

Thanks for the info
On our way home from Greece, tunnel booked for 18th Oct, just changed to 17th, ( also that will be day 88 of our allowance) so don’t want to be delayed, can’t make it any earlier, as still in Italy at the moment, long drive tomorrow, to try to get to Luxembourg, and get fuel, then Sunday, get close to tunnel.

Thank you to everyone posting updates on here - very helpful as we decide what to do about our trip to the Loire next week from Calais.

Parked up at Sangatte autoroutes good for fuel info we are 3/4 full so will fill up in the uk. It’s been interesting garage outside campsite yesterday had fuel and queues when we passed on our way to the town. Was barriered off by the time we got back still closed this morning when we left.
Sunny and windy here waiting for site to open. Didn’t notice it closed for lunch should have given the motorway break a miss.

Barn1e we have traveled along the Loire, started at Riom 3 days ago and move via Nevers, Sully and left the Loire at Orleans to head north to Chartres. About the fuel situation in general all I can say is that you can't generalise. Many places without fuel but many with. Some with big queues, some without or very minor ones.
As the news said many affected as we saw a lot missing one type of fuel but had other types. Just used a Total station just off the Chartres ring road queue was just 3 deep, restricted to 40 euros @ 1.68 /l for diesel. Now just along the road at Courville-Sur-Eure where Super U has fuel without a queue but asking 1.95 for diesel.
My advice to you is keep your tank topped up as you don't know how the situation may change.

We came home from the Costa Brava last Sunday 9th October, via motorways from the Spanish border passing Carcassonne, Toulouse, Limoges, Orleans and found that all the motorway stations had fuel, no queues. However as we came through Chatres, Dreux, Evereux and Rouen, we could see queues at filling stations off the motorway.

This has now upset a lot of people who are now trying hard to find some other shit to blame on Brexit/the government 😁😁
And people wonder why we voted for Brexit. It seems everything gets blamed on either Brexit or our Government, by the BBC.

Drove from Nancy to Eurotunnel yesterday. No issues filling up with diesel.

The French government stated on radio, that things would soon be back to normal. It seems that "some" tanker drivers have gone on strike and as usual, panic buyers create shortages!

Have to say its an ill wind etc, but we have left France and are heading back to calais via Italy, Switzerland, Germany and Belgium. Drove over the St Gottard pass today, lovely easy run with some stunning views. Now in Lucerne for a few days before heading on to Frieburg and Trier. No issues at all with fuel, but it is more expensive than France. Really pleased we have been nudged into coming this way home.

Drove down from Calais to Laon today no problems around Calais but after Bethune almost every fuel station shut with the prices off. Off to Trier tomorrow so no worries. Would appear North East France is worst at the moment

We have driven from Avignon and now in Ypres. Only a few places with no diesel. Never let tank go below 3/4 full. Take fuel at every opportunity and you will have no problem.

Having been in north east France for a few days and I’d say 60% have fuel, and 40% not. Most supermarkets do.

Total garage on A28 has diesel and no queues, didn’t see price because we went for lpg ( interest to get gas you have to go to kiosk and pay for an amount but if you don’t reach that amount your card only gets charged what you had) and the total garage in Montreuil sur mer has diesel at 1.739€.

We're enjoying a few days in Dieppe with the car so filled up with petrol in Newhaven before leaving UK. The gas station Auchan in the Centre Belvedere has petrol, no diesel, and the Total Energies station on the Rouen/Paris road two minutes from Auchan has diesel and queues. (They have just announced that the 20centimes reduction is being extended till November). The news just now said Macron "hopes the situation will be soon resolved".

It does seem a lottery, lots of garages with cones lined up, no fuel, others with fuel but at a price.
If you can get diesel under 2.00 euro per litre in France you're doing well.
I think those that have fuel are milking the situation, prior to the strikes 1.65 euro per litre was more normal retail price

I agree
the 30 cent reduction is still in place.
I think they are preparing the population to expect no reduction.
It seems to work, as we paid the same in France as other boardering countries.

Just driven from Calais down A26, onto A1. Fuel at all service areas. We filled at first stop on A1. Limited to 30 litres. Only needed 15!

Over the last few days we have been coming back up the N10 from Spain and filled up at the Auchan at Angouleme and the massive Leclerc at Chatres no problems 👍

Tried 3 times at separate filling station on Il d' Oleron. All three had purple 30 stickers on the pumps all rejected my British (Santander) card.
Down the road a LeClerc accepted and I toppped up ok.

Driven today from Belgium over French border and down south of Epernay, saw no fuel stations without fuel or with queues, having not topped up since Bristol, we decided to get some today as approaching the red zone on gauge , just north of Reims, at a Total station. ! All around Calais ok too on Sunday.

Although we have seen very few fuel shortages in the Dordogne there was a Total station next to the Aire we have been on for the last two nights. It was completely out of all fuels, This morning all fuels avaliable so looks like Total are delivering again.
