We are currently in the south of France and noticed some v long queues at petrol stations this am. Our neighbour where we have stopped has made us aware that the refineries have walked out on strike so no fuel is making its way to forecourts

I was wondering if anyone is aware how long this might be going on for ???

If it’s any help, we’ve been slowly driving up the west coast on D roads, Ile de Ré, La Tranches, Les Sables, now near Quiberon, no A or N roads, and seen no problems anywhere over the last 3 or 4 days.

Definitely seems to be worse North and East what I've seen and experienced, good luck with the rest of your trip. We're into Italy today heading for the lakes for a couple of days relaxation.

Looks like we are doing a similar journey but in reverse. We were in Avignon last week, and at the CCP site at Fontaine de Vaucluse a couple of days ago. (Walked up to the source of the river, and also across the aqueduct. Quite spectacular even in autumn. Must be phenomenal in the spring).

I think we passed the filling station near Roussillon that you used earlier today - passed it before we had spotted it - from memory diesel was around €2.20 a litre. Ouch!

Have a safe journey north.
Great places to visit. Very impressed with Vaucluse. Colours spectacular. Diesel price about right but honestly didnt pay much attention. Needs must. Just arrived in Uzes. Queue a mile long at petrol station.

We topped up at Intermarche on outskirts of Argentan(1.97€) no limit other than normal pay at pump limit, queued for about 20mins
Passed another fuel station and people were queuing and that was 2.15€😳

We are in Brittany now and we were in Normandy last week. Other than Total garages I haven't seen any others closed but I did see a supermarket selling diesel for €1.99 yesterday so prices may be increasing.

But if you cross over with a full tank will you need fuel? If you do I suggest top up whenever you see somewhere open. Don't run the tank down to near empty because you might get stuck.

We stopped for the washing machines at Carrefour in Argentan yesterday and the pumps were all off, but still 3 French tried to get fuel.

Is the Gov 30cents subsidy still in operation. I thought I saw sign when we were over a few weeks ago saying it ends 30/09/22

Won't make any difference whether the 30cents subsidy is still in operation or not, as the price you see on the pump or board is the price you pay.

No its not, the 30 cents comes of the pump price. If it didn't you was done.

Our receipts from French fuel stations including Total when we were there last month say different.
We paid per litre what it said on the board and pump as was stated it would be on the French government website when I checked before we left the UK.

Prove me wrong by taking a photo of the pump/board price and your receipt when you have paid. (y)

Just leaving Calais now. There was fuel at Auchan but there are a few people about. Also a few cop cars and vans. All good humoured. Some of the other filling stations were dry. No LPG anywhere.
Happy travels.

We are going from Calais to Bracieux in Loire next week. Mostly D roads to SE of Paris, then Bracieux. Returning to Calais via the northern coast. Can anyone give me a feel to diesel supplies in Bracieux area as I will need a refill for the return. I am not convinced I trust the Petrol € app.

Sorry to disagree. (Unless it's changed in the last 4 weeks) the subsidy is deducted from the price displayed on the pump at the time if filling up.

Nope Paul is right on my receipt it says prices includes the reduction and the price was the same as on the pump.

As I said before, our payment receipts say different and we were in France from the 3rd of September till the 27th. (y)

We have just left Pont du Gard today , the supermarkets around Nimes had Diesel but there were long queues.

Today we were on the autoroute towards Perpignan , most of the service stations on the autoroute we passed had fuel and the queues weren’t long maybe due to price!

We have stopped off near Sigean and the intermarche has fuel available and we filled easily , no queue.

yes I found that in France the price on pump was what was paid & the info on attached sheet stated that also.
Unlike sppain where the price has the deduction from the pump price when paying & here that includes auto pay pumps.

Just wondering what they’re charging for diesel on the Autoroutes, not that it’s worth fretting about in these difficult times 🤔
