FRANCE ON THE CARDS

Too much personal information that could be useful to scammers etc....

I found the town you live in by clicking on your avatar
Wouldn’t be hard to find full address
Name, Address and DOB is all you need for lots of stuff
Just trying to help (y)

We also have the same results by txt message.
Yes, that’s the same as a self administered test. It doesn’t matter where or who does the the test, it all goes into the same computer system and it presents the result in exactly the same way. So the less scrupulous could get a self test kit, not actually do the test and put in whatever result they wanted using the barcode.

I wish you well, but the NHS test is said to be not acceptable, we are through the tunnel on Tuesday and have purchased tests at £29 each, which I don’t think is outrageous.
May I ask from where and which tests you booked for £29?

We are heading through the tunnel on 13th and need to book some in Canterbury on the 12th

Thanks 😊

No problem, it does not cause me any concern what so ever. Birthdays are easy to get and DOB should not be to difficult either.
Keep safe.

We have the tunnel booked on the 29th so fingers crossed.

You're just hoping we all take note of it along with your name and where you live to send you loads of pressies aren't you!

OK! We bother completed our free walk in antigen tests this morning. They register your details and it includes the bar code to the test sample so there is a direct link from the test result to the person tested. If your doing this it's important to remember to ensure you provide your email address as this is optional. After testing you will receive an email which shows date of test and result. I will be presenting this to the French Border force tomorrow when we cross. I have printed it out to make it easier for the Border force. I'll let you know how we get on tomorrow.View attachment 512401
Bon Voyage, I hope you get through okay. 🤞

Please can I ask where you got these tests from?

Not planning on going anywhere but looked at the C19 Testing site out of interest. Noticed they are out of stock of the Green returning to England tests. Wonder if that's going to be a problem with other test centres as more people start travelling?

May I Ask how is the test certificate produced after you take this self administered test!. Do you perhaps phone the result through and they send you a document ! I don't quite get it as you can get a free NHS test kit so can only assume your paying £29.00 for a document ?

Just spent the last hour browsing test centres and the ones I looked at all required you to send copies of passport photo and passport number so presumably that will be included on the document you receive.

Also interested to read that the UK doesn't recognise the free NHS test results if returning from abroad (except truckers and a few others).

You put the test result into the GOV.UK website, by scanning or typing in the QR code, along with your details or more easily by creating an account on there. You then immediately receive an email and a text telling you the result of the result you have just submitted! You can then print it off or whatever. If I check my NHS app all my results are there alongside my vaccine details. We do the tests twice weekly.

I can now confirm (as promised) the NHS Antigen test is not accepted by the French Border staff at Dover. The guy doing the checking was having a field day and rejected the entry of the three car's who were in front of us at the entry check and then us also. We were then sent in a convoy, lead by a security vehicle to the exit point. Bugger!
So now back on Canterbury P&R and will try and book a private Antigen test come Monday. We have amended our ferry crossing to Tue afternoon without having to make any additional payments.
Just need to find a private antigen test for Monday in this area.

Thats good news for us if not for you. Clears things up . Good luck with tests and enjoy your trip. Three weeks until we try to cross but i have the dodgy az jab So up in the air again.

There’s a place six miles from Gatwick airport.

Well that went better than I thought. it would. Finding reasonably priced short notice antigen tests is a bit of a mare but I have found a private test 22 minutes drive from here at £39.00 each. Delayed by 48 hrs but have found a way through! He who dares wins Rodders ! He who dare wins !

So we now know that they will only accept a private antigen test before entering France.

How do we get a test for our return?

Did you buy tests from them for your return?

Least you had the balls to try it out, I admire your courage, and it helps everyone after you, now both of you have made definitive test of the system at this present time.
Until the rules change again !

Where did you book the test? Looking for somewhere down that way. Planning to head over in August..

This is easier. I would wait and see what the entry requirements are before returning and then take it from there. Loads of private and affordable antigen testing in France.
