France in December

Trouble is when your near on 9m long what only looks like a little incline can be a fair bit over that length.
Bad enough at 7.5m ours has a long wheelbase for the size van (4.4m) which makes it worse. We never used to worry about being level but since we have had air suspension (no jacks) we can get level over 90% of the time & now it bugs me if we are not level.

I have been known to get my level out to check the levellers are correct as I felt a bit off tilt a few times, always says we are ok🤔

You should find water still available in cemeteries if you have watering can or Jerry can. Whoops….missed the earlier post about same. Al

Don't need a level just standing in the van I tell if it's level.
If the wine bottle or beer slide off the table it's deffinitly not level.

Magical in December. Dusting of snow and all that gingerbread.

I know that the OP is now off to Germany instead, but for future reference, we came up the A75 over the Millau viaduct and past Clermont Ferrand yesterday with no problems. Some snow across the surrounding land, but all cleared from the road itself, and clearly heavily salted. Down to zero degrees at times though, even with bright sunshine in mid afternoon.
Currently overnighted in Montlucon.

WESTY66 Make sure you are in France on Friday as you will need a negative test result to get in on Saturday if coming from outside the EU. Not sure about coming back through France as you are only going for a week you may need one.
Also do you know about the "Pre-departure digital registration" you need to do to enter Germany?

Gets better doesn’t it?🙄

There is no market in Rothenberg this year just so you know. Today in Heidelberg we had to take a LFT before being allowed in plus show vaccination certificate. Some places also want photo ID with certificate so take driving licence.

Yes will do, but what I’m trying to find out is that ”from Saturday” you need a test and as the French customs are on this side and I’m catching the Friday night 11.20pm so I should clear French customs this side around 10.45-11.00, BUT do they work on UK time or FRENCH time. We should hit ET around 9.00-9.30pm🤞

There is a Christmas shop run by the same firm near Colmar, pretty sure it was Colmar we see a Christmas shop with Rothenburg on the window.

The French have not announced a time the rule will come into force yet.

A good day in Rothenburg is enough I think, did you stay in the car park near the fire station?

We went to carpark near Fire station. Agree 1 day enough so I’d take in Dinkenbuhl and Nordlingen (have I got correct names?) too.

I’m assuming midnight CET. Spoke to Eurotunnel and they say the French border is on U.K. time, and I should be ok🤞🤞

French have just announced they will be bringing in further measures to be announced on 14th Dec.
I’ve been on a page that says it was being updated, that notice has gone and and update with todays date on and there’s no change to the conditions for travel!
Is 14th Dec now the date for tests??
Confused??? You bet I am🤷‍♂️

4th for the test 14th for further measures.

Just had a look at 'the local' site which is french based and according to them Saturday is the day tests will be required.
So Friday should be ok.
French govt will release exact date and time shortly. Looks like it will be lateral flow or PCR as before. We go back to Spain in a couple of weeks so extra expense once more even though we are triple jabbed.

Will there be roadblocks on the E40 at the Belgian and French borders stopping traffic coming back from Germany?

On our trip not seen any maned border crossing but might get a problem at Calais.
