I also note that over the last few days our Typhoons have been more active and I guess there sharpening there skills as a result of Putin going Tonto.

For anyone interested here is information on the Ukraine Airforce.

We live not far (as the crow flies) from the firing ranges and last few weeks there has definitely been more activity which seems to have stepped up a bit more in the last few days and extremely busy today. So even though the stock market has crashed maybe a good idea to find out who supplies the ammunition to the parachute regiment and invest there:smiley:

I wonder how many of these are still in one piece this morning...

Allegedly one Ukrainian SU27 less this morning after the pilot was intercepted in Romanian airspace by 2 x Romanian F16s and forced to land at Bacau.

A lot of activity at Coningsby this morning but it has been schedule for a week as they are getting ready for the display season. Purely routine stuff

It’s chilling that this B52 NOBLE42 is doing blatant loops over Poland with it’s transponder on, I’m assuming as part of the show of force. It’s listed as having departed Kemble, maybe it’s actually one of the ones that flew into Fairford recently.

You can't get on flighttracker24 now, there is a waiting time of 27 mins  I wonder why?

I have had to wait in a virtual line for 10 mins then got locked out.

The one circled is a Stratotanker, I take it the extender is as well? Both out of Mildenhall.

NOBLE42 is indeed one of the four B52's which arrived recently. It took off this morning from Fairford along with NOBLE41, both appeared to be on the same course but 41 disappeared from sight shortly afterwards.

I normally use https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=ae037e

You can filter on military craft- I assume you can do the same thing with Flightradar? (i've never tried)

TBH I do not think Putin will be particularly bothered about a few planes doing circuits over adjoining countries- I don't think he would be bothered if they flew over Ukraine either- the bloke is a lunatic and knows the West will do nothing.

NOBLE41 is currently making wiggly lines over Sweden

Thank you that’s useful.

I haven’t worked out a way to filter FR24 to just military yet. Perhaps someone else knows?

Some of it is practices for the upcoming display season. Also, there's Exercise Cobra Warrior coming up (6th - 28th March), so could be aircraft / crew being readied for that.
And not forgetting routine patrols now that the resident commie dictator halfwit has made his opening move

Todays Telegraph. Its a rout !

After Russian troops began a military invasion of Ukraine on Thursday morning, reports began to quickly surface about attacks all over the country.
From shelling in Mariupol, to helicopter air attacks in Kyiv and air strikes in Odessa, the geographical scale of the invasion has grown rapidly.

In Odessa, 18 people were killed in an airstrike on a military base near Ukraine's Black Sea port city, the local administration said. Ten of the victims were women and eight were men.
It was the deadliest single strike so far of the day reported by Ukrainian officials, who had earlier put the death toll across the country at around 50, including about 10 civilians.
Disturbing footage emerged from the eastern town of Uman, where a civilian riding a bicycle was hit and killed by Russian artillery.
By lunchtime on Thursday, Ukrainian police said Russia had carried out 203 attacks since the beginning of the day, with fighting going on almost everywhere throughout the country.
In the afternoon, fighting intensified over an airport only 15 miles from the capital of Kyiv. Antonov International Airport - also known as Hostomel - was the target of a large air assault operation, with some early reports suggesting the airport has fallen to Russian troops.
The centre of Kyiv was also preparing for widespread missile attacks on Thursday afternoon as the local Mayor announced that four metro stations would not have trains running through them so people can use them as air raid shelters.

Todays Telegraph. Its a rout !
Let's hope it isn't because if it is then the murdering will start of any opposition figures, president, etc, etc, The russians will have a execution list of those earmarked who will "killed" in the fighting" "shot resisting arrest" & all the usual b***cks the russian scum does.

I read today that part of the problem is the geography of Ukraine vs their military capabilities, which means the Ukrainians will have to cede certain areas to stay in the game. Facing masses of Russian armour covered by air superiority in the flat, open parts of Ukraine is never going to end well, so they have little option but to draw them into the urban areas to offset the armour/air power advantage.

I’m liking adsbexchange although the UI is a bit clunky on mobile.

Netherlands Apaches, Chinook and F16 up again.

Voyager being shadowed by 2 Typhoons off Cyprus. Guessing they’re practising refuelling approaches. The one in the bottom right is a RAF C130

NOBLE41 B52 on its way home (Fairford?)

Looks like it took a detour on the way home to practise runs at the ranges near Holbeach.

RAF Voyager and (at least) 1 Typhoon cutting across Northern Germany. Apologies if someone else has posted it but there's an awful lot of activity.
