Busy tonight. 5 typhoons, Dassault Falcon (aggressor?), C130 from Brize and a MC130 doing roundabouts near Mildenhall.

Think the Sentries are due to be replaced by Wedgetails possibly next year

Question for the more experienced... What's the biggest military aircraft?

Is a globe master bigger than a hercules?

Anywhere handy for motorhomes to see some of the planes mentioned in this thread?

There are 4 b52s and a couple of U2’s flying regularly out of RAF Fairford at the moment along with Hercules , A400s and Voyagers also above us from Brize. You could do a pub stop or look at a CL in the area , cycling or walking to the side of the runway at Fairford is a good place to view.

Apparently there is a glider over Cambridge
Never knew they could or would fly at night in winter ?

Blimy, there's an unmanned US drone circling over Ukraine, I always assumed they'd be undercover to this site. 52,000 feet
Maybe a message to the warmonger in Moscow ?

I think they want them to be visible at the moment. Probably taking over the night shift after the Rivet Joint (manned surveillance) went home.

Looks like the Global Hawk flew from Sicily, so I’m guessing that’s what the RAF Voyager over Bulgaria a few hours ago was hanging round to refuel

Not been personally, but I sometimes see Motorhomes in the Lakenheath viewing area, if F15Cs, F15Es and F35s are your thing. Seem to be training most days at the moment, surprisingly enough…

Global Hawk still flying over Ukraine, doing circuits along the Belarus boarder at the moment.

I'm amazed to see again a glider flying at 500' over Luton this time. Cambridge last night.
Who on earth takes a glider up in these weather conditions at night ?
And surely it's going to finish up in a muddy puddle in some field somewhere assuming you find the landing strip, and for what purpose ? Your not travelling anywhere, there's nothing to see at night and it's blowing a hooley.
Am I missing something

I came across this video today, thought it may be of interest. It's quite something to see.
Apologies if it's already been posted.

is this another type of drone or something else .
it’s the same pattern as in the past when the drones were up.

Looks like its flightplan started near Sicily similar to the Global Hawks previously, so guessing it's just a transponder glitch, possibly intentional. Is there a US carrier sat near Sicily at the moment?

Not much else flies at nearly 60,000ft

Invalid transponder code. Still there now

Just realised the US Navy have been flying Global Hawks out of Sigonella, Sicily for several years, including over Ukraine.

USAF RC135 Combat Sentry nosing about in the Eastern Med this morning. Possibly checking up on Russian naval assets in Syria
