Neil Sergeant Will there be a tractor/4x4 vehicle on site for pulling my 3 ton LT Florida on or off site if necessary? ;-)

Neil Sergeant Thanks for the 'like' but it is a serious question, I have been stuck on many a VW Show site in the past and fortunately they all had the facilities available to get me out.
Given the recent wet weather it's a distinct possibility that there will be similar problems at the Racecourse.

Penguin Huddles - Do we all have to shuffle round with eggs balanced on our feet! This is getting weird:Eeek:!

I'm sure that penguins have got smaller ever since they stopped wrapping them in silver paper.:Laughing:

Hope you all have safe journeys to what is going to be a fabulous meet.

Sadly our motorhome still isnt back so we wont be joining you.

Hmm...had fondly imagined we were going to be on car park hardstanding! Seems from earlier posts re tow-outs that we're on grass. Has reduced the excitement factor considerably as our first [and so far last] rally was at the P'boro show last year. Being towed on and off a swamp was dismal! [the sight of a hundred or so vans with hazards flashing forlornly will stay with me for ever] Anyone have any idea how the ground at the racecourse compares?

This is a photo of the racecourse taken yesterday..

Our area is very near to the hard standing, when you are there, you will be within 1 minute of the Food Fair which is mostly under cover in large solid maquees, and within 10 min of the centre of Chester, 5 min of the Grovenor Museuem, my friend was in Chester yesterday and there is very little snow on the roads and paths.

We have been out in the car today and all the main roads are clear around, it is just the roads on the estates that are difficult.

Just making a list of what to bring with me ,on my trek up north.

Extra food/beer/gas in case of prolonged snow.:thumb:

Will there be a tractor there to give me a tug, if i sink into the heavy going turf on the racecourse?

Would you like to spend Easter with us at camping a few yards from the centre of Chester? On the racecourse? Of course you would. We had a great time this year and will have a better one next.

We get to spend the whole of Easter chatting, eating and drinking with other funsters, wandering around the great city of Chester, and dipping in and out of the Food and Drink Festival (free entry for us)

It really is a nice way to spend Easter. Shout up here if you want to come this year. It will be restricted to 135 vans or the Pimms bill is horrendous.

It costs just £30 per person for the for whole Easter period, kids are a Tenner. Dogs are welcome in the camping area and race course but are not allowed into the food festival.

You seem to have the essentials covered there  yes they do have a tractor, but hopefully we are near the edge so could be alright, today it is quite bright here, just make sure you have your welly's thermals, long johns are always good  the food they have at the festival is really good and 1 minute away from your van. keep watching the thread and I will keep it updated.

Just wondering if any of you FUNSTERS who have genny's would be willing to give anyone who runs low on power, of course a bottle of wine or some petrol would cross palms:Smile: but seriously if anyone is willing to help out could you please pm me so I can have a list on stand by for anyone stuck. :thumb:
