I really don't understand all this mither, everyone keeps on about 90 days but that's not it though is it, you get two 90 days a year so all in all you actually get 6 months away, how much more do you need for god's sake.

You're not a stupid man Charlie so I fail to see what you don't understand. The weather in Scotland is shit from October to April. I've no desire to be in warmer countries in the summer . 2 x 90 days with 90 days in between doesn't give you 6 months out of UK over winter.

Half ( or at least many ) of the folk on this forum spent 5/6 months in Spain over winter each year before 2021 when they no longer could

There's a reason they did that.

You live In a house or part of a house with a big Woodburner and you're retired so can choose to work if you want or sit indoors .

I don't like freezing cold , wet , snowy or grey skies .

I'm 52 in a fortnight, I've no private pensions and I've not even paid enough in yet to get my full state pension . I can't retire anyway till I'm 68


I don't have enough money to buy a qualifying property and I would struggle to get a job because I can't speak most of the languages....even Spanish I'm no where near fluent.

If it was an easy thing to do I'd have done it.

My life has changed drastically since I sold up and went travelling the first time . I now have 4 dogs for a start which requires a lot of consideration in whatever I do .. and I'll have them at least the next 10 years most likely

Absolutely Geoff, as Service Personnel and Civilians contracted to MOD, fly out to RAF Akrotiri on a Service Travel Order, not a passport, though they are required to hold a valid one nonetheless.

As a visiting tourist on a British Passport, flying into Paphos or Larnaca, the rules are different.

The 90/180 days caused us problems, even though we only used to go twice 8 weeks nut more than 180 days between. It was the months we liked. But having now retired from motorhoming it makes no difference to me. But I do understand Tams problem. It’s a shame no one thought of having reciprocal rules as Europe

Montenegro is said to be quite nice and one could use it as a base and travel into the nearby other countries on the list. Might not be very warm though.

Montenegro was nice 15 years ago, but I think it is quite expensive.

I tried to photograph the big bit of beach they bury all the rubbish in but its hard to see in the photos to be fair .... but they drive down dig a hole dump the trash and then cover it over again .... feckn daft really but the dogs are a nightmare near these areas as they can smell it and want to dig

Bought a set of cedar wood bowls off one of the sellers .. to be honest I didn't need them but he had a huge box of all this stuff he'd made .. showed us photos of him and his dad and their workshop ...very talented he had lots of clever boxes with secret compartments, dice boxes , chess boards etc all hand made . I thought the bowls were nice. He started with the usual bollocks , 400dh for large one , 250dh for medium and 150dh for the small . I said no thanks I don't need them really I just thought they were nice.. anyway usual bolloxks of best price etc to which I said 250dh .. and stuck to my guns for ages .. In the end I upped it last price to 270dh for all 3 and done the deal at that.

I honestly don't feckin need them but doing my bit for local economy eh so I'm £22 lighter and have 3 bowls to put crisps, nuts etc in but in truth they'll sit in a cupboard with all the other shite I never use lol

Moving on tomorrow as I really need gas I'm on limited dregs left In my lpg refillable as the Moroccan bottle ran out on Sunday morning . And I need a few other things from shops . So I'll head off after morning doggie walks .

I would have thought people doing that aren't unlikely to maintain them like genuine classic car owners so perhaps a test is a good idea.

Depends how strict the test is .. it also buggers up the bonus of having a 40 year old camper you didn't need to return to the UK with for an mot each year .

That's a good thing though. Do you really want idiots driving around major cities in old cars that are unsafe? That's what's likely happening, the ones who look after their classics won't really give a hoot as they know their cars inside out and maintain them well so know that they'll pass.

Surely there should be accident records if classic cars are being used to avoid MOT’s and not being maintained properly?
