Doc on tour, France, Spain, Morroco.

Northernraider Tam great photos again, those Deep Blue skies, loved the photo of the Blue door, lol like s many love the photos of the various vans I really like seeing unusual doors so any photos of them to add to your list, I'd love to see them.
Aye I'm partial to a door myself....one of the best bits in Morocco, the doors are ornate just the rest of the building often looks like a Beirut bomb site lol.

That plumbing looks horrific even to a bodger like me. There are dozens of hozelock connectors and I've always found there are a few that leak, not a problem in a garden hose but could be serious in a motorhome.
Looks like the design was from a Woman's Realm knitting supplement.

After lunch I moved on from the cliff spot as the wind was really picking up ....its meant to be quite wild overnight but will see . Moved to a sheltered spot in mirleft where I stayed last time . Not pretty but it's quiet. There's another 2 strays here but both have collars on so maybe community dogs or something if such a thing exists here. Both very friendly and don't seem very hungry so that's a good sign .

The black female one looks like a bigger version of jade .... and there's a white one that looks like a labrador.... its wandered off again so no pic of that one .

Had a walk down the beach to the sea arch before I left the cliff spot .. blu the dirty madam rolled in something so she stinks .

The inside of my van is a riot with the dust here it's going to take days to clean it properly when back in Spain.. the outside is filthy now also from the slight rain shower this morning followed by dust n wind. It seems pointless trying to keep it clean here.

Just back from a fortnight in Marrakech courtesy of Tui via Manchester airport. I loved Marrakech and the vibrancy of the city and the people. I have been on about taking the Motorhome to Morocco ever since we bought it, my wife isn't so keen, We took the service CMT bus on a day trip to Essaouira, 3 hours there and 3 hours back. Just driving out of Marrakech convinced me that it would be completely nuts to take our van over there and that was before we came across the motorbike under a van. No sign of the drivers but the police were on the scene already. The drive back was even more challenging with the superb bus driver using his horn and lights to let numerous cyclist and motorcyclist, many without lights, of his presence. Loads of police roadblocks both ways so not surprised you got pulled over. I have to say I highly recommend sunshine and heat in January whilst Scotland is being battered by 100 mph winds.

I'm done for today ....I can't respond to everyone's messages right now, I have read all replies, and thank you it means a lot.

I don't really want this debate going on for days ,I'm still upset about the whole thing and going over it doesn't make it better , I just wanted to explain that I didn't do this .

I can't see whatever other thread Carol mentioned this morning . I put garrys thread on ignore on Saturday as I don't want notifications whenever I'm mentioned on it.

As I said in my post earlier I still need time to process this last week ....I still have issues with the camper and I'm still trying to figure out a plan for the next week or so as I need to collect this part at somepoint.

I have taken some photos over the last few days and I'll post them up at somepoint.

Tonight I'm parked up north of sidi ifni and I've 3 strays here one of which has been tied up with a rope to act as a guard dog ...its been whining and howling the last 4 hours and I'm fighting the urge to set it free but as there's a security camera set up I'm unsure whether the police might not agree with me and I've already had one run in with corrupt police this week.
May I suggest you get your arse out of Morocco (you all know I think it is a dump) and return to Europe? Things will get instantly better once you move away from the misery that is Morocco, and that will aid you in getting a grip on the situation and perhaps re-evaluate everything. I do not have the pleasure of knowing you Tam, but just by reading all these posts tells me that none of it is helping you.

All the best.

I think dump is a very fair description! I went there in 1981,it was certainly a dump then…well actually a shitehole. Filthy disgusting place on the whole,I’d rather be in Spain or Portugal any day.

Aye I'm just trying to delay re entering shengen for a couple of weeks as I only have 32 shengen days left and don't really want back in the UK before the 3rd week in march. If no joy with campsite Job's I'm just heading right back up to Scotland

Yeah I do think it's a very dirty country overall .....and it's hard not to see it .

I remember a few years ago going to Algeria for work.
I took a walk down to the beach one day and was shocked at the filthy state of the place. Piles of rubbish everywhere along with rusting steel junk sticking out of the sands.
The contrast knowing what the beaches are like just across the water in Spain / France was stark.
Morocco doesn't hold much appeal for me either apart from the blue skies and sunshine.

Aye that town down the coast I went to was like that rubbish buried in the sand ...loads of broken glass dumped

Exactly, why go to a shitehole when you can be in civilisation?

Yes, of course, in your case it is justified. I still would not go to Morocco though, there must be other options, no?
Hopefully I can do the French visa next time I'm doing spain

Cos we’re not allowed in civilisation longer than 90 days🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
I think unless you really like Morocco as obviously some repeat visitors do it isn't worth coming just to stay out shengen as it really is a very different culture.

I don't see what the fans of Morocco see obviously.

And I definitely could not do 3 months here . I won't even stay the full 2 months I'd planned to . But had to buy insurance for 3 months

Ferry, insurance and dog stuff it costs me £500 just to get here

You could sit your time out in the UK too. Are you saying that on balance you would rather be there than in the UK?
May not be for me either but most of the UK at this time of year is either dark, wet, cold , miserable , expensive or expensive, miserable, cold, wet or dark 🤷‍♂️

Even when it is a lovely day, like today, full on sun all day, the ground is wet, soggy deep muddy, you have to wear a heavy warm coat, gloves and scarf and the dog needs a wash when returning home.

So one could do one of those 'how much we dislike it' surveys. A way of calibrating preferences.

'I would rather be in Spain or Portugal' says almost everyone in winter.

But, if you can't be in Spain or Portugal, would you also rather be in Morocco than the UK? Algeria? Egypt? Sudan? 💀 The DRC? ☠️

And in summer? Is that when the UK really shines?

It was light hearted.
I love the uk and all the weather it can throw at me, being outside and wet is my job but come next November I’ll be lucky enough to spend a month in SA, Christmas in the UK and I’m out of here on the 28th looking for dryer weather.
