Doc on tour, France, Spain, Morroco.

No sure what security a tethered dog provides! Don't get yourself in trouble though.
It's the friendliest quietest guard dog ever ...the only noise it makes is whining because its miserable.. you go over to it and it comes for pets and cuddles
There are 2 other younger dogs too that look related but are more nervous and can't get near them ..

Cut it free as you leave.

That's what I was thinking but I'm just wondering how the police would view it if the person who owns this building showed them video of me freeing the dog. Not sure if they'd see it as cruelty or not.

There's also the possibility that it doesn't leave and they then just recapture it.

I don't know why they have that one tied up anyway . If they provided shelter and food and water it would likely stay here regardless .

But no one has turned up here today yet . So if we weren't here it wouldn't have food or water and can't leave to go get any . It was really hot yesterday and that shelter is shit. And then today its very windy and stormy and meant to get worse according to forecast.

I'm gonna move on after lunch but I might just take the chance and cut the rope .

Some photos from last few days ...

Tiznit....really had to look for nice bits to take photos of... the souk etc is really dirty and smelled quite bad... but looks like they're spending money on tidying up some of the buildings. But it was a quick stop after lunch and I moved on

Compared to tafroute which is probably the nicest place I've been in Morocco tiznit really comes up short ....yet has 3 or 4 campsites 🤷‍♂️

Overnight stop between tiznit and guelmim, clean ,quiet and 3 friendly strays

I was joined again by Mike and brenna who were heading to guelmim too .
They took a few pics of my van on the drive down

Marjane carpark in guelmim had a few interesting rigs , massive morelo liner which made everything look small , an even bigger big truck le voyager motorhome . A lovely old merc 814 clou liner and a very strange 6 wheeled Swiss mini overlander

From guelmim I headed 2 hours through barren desert...over 100km to the coastal town of El ouatia because nigel the fella I'd met further north said it was a nice place ....he lied lol

What an absolute shithole of a town.. definitely the worst place I've seen , got pulled by police on the drive down for a trumped up speeding charge .... 3 other motorhomes also stopped all fined 150dh ... cash only , no receipt etc .

But when they have your passport , licence , v5 and insurance etc there's not much you can do as you can't leave.

Did meet this very funny German motorhomer that I'd met in tafroute ...he had headed there as he'd considered driving down to Western Sahara but changed his mind as he found the drive quite boring and also thought this town was not nice... I didn't plan to go any further south than sidi ifni to be honest

The german guy has dome a lot of mods to his van, Washing machine etc and a plumbing system that gave me shivers lol .

3 full size rigid 400 watt solar panels in the garage thst he had set up on the street to run the washing machine lol

And then I headed up to sidi ifni , didn't think much of that last time either. There's a few nice old buildings but that's about it ... I can't see the appeal of it much either but again quite a few campsites so obviously some like it.

Had a wee walk around Took a few pics of the best bits and then left again , 1 hour was enough . Came back to van and had about a dozen very skittish very skinny strays lying in the shade around my van .

And then headed out of town and to a cliff spot I stayed at last time by the sea arches .....and that's where I stayed last night.

The dog is private property, as is the rope holding it, so it’s more likely to be property crime.

Some of those beaches look like they need a clean up, the dugs seem to be enjoying the sea though.
Glad you're back on track, wonder if the camera is seeing you feeding the guard dog so whoever is meant to isn't bothering.
Good luck with the brakes too.

Morocco is still not doing it for me.

Find me a nice place, please.

Glad you've got some company.
Nor me ... I gave it a second chance but bar staying out of shengen its a no from me.

The very worst parts of spain are far better than the best bits of Morocco.

Turkey was better.

I'll be heading back to Greece next winter most likely via montenegro and Albania again I think . And will probably do a bit of turkey to stretch my time out.

If coming back to Spain I'll have to try that French visa thing or it'll just be a 3 month trip.

Morocco isn't worth the hassle in my opinion.

Hard to find nice places on the coast... I'll be heading back up till I reach north of casablanca then heading for fez which was nice ish then ifran, chefchouan and then a bit of the med coast before crossing back to Spain. I'll probably just return to the beach spot I had at oualidia for a few days on route as the rest wasn't great.

I came mainly to do the van paintwork and thats done. All I want now is a couple of nice new sheepskins for my cab seats and some peace n quiet away from sellers and guardians and that'll do me .

I'll probably be back around agadir tomorrow night

Hi Tam
Thought this photo was quite fitting.
I was sat in a restaurant with my now wife in Indonesia having a beer. I could see splashing in the water in the distance so decided to wade out to see what was causing it. Turned out to be a turtle tethered to a fishing boat with a cord attached to its shell through a hole that had been crudely drilled. Took a few minutes but I managed to bite through rope and set it free.

That plumbing looks horrific even to a bodger like me. There are dozens of hozelock connectors and I've always found there are a few that leak, not a problem in a garden hose but could be serious in a motorhome.
I couldn't believe that, he must have blind faith in them, I have enough trouble getting one to connect to a tap without leaking.

Yep I said the same , I've a few of those connectors for my fill up hose and they all leak to some degree ..

Change them to electric powered valve ones and you'd be fine! 😄
