Ive tried asking several current mason's.... they're more tight lipped than Milo with a scoobie snack .....i think they take photo's of them in compromised positions for blackmail lol.

Hi welcome nothing changes they bought a second hotel booking system around 10 years ago I suppose it might be an airline one now seeing that a number have gone to the wall. As for a deposit system they can stick it where the sun doesn't shine and will use CL'S.

So if your a normal sort who doesn't get drunk and pick an argument with your neighbors,if you put yourselves on your pitch,if you keep your darling dogs on leads and kids under control.if you don't crash into bits of the site which have been in position for years.

So down to the "nitty gritty"

Why here?
In mid 2000s I was forum member on MH Facts ,along with the founder of this site we watched as the site collapsed due to breakdowns,hacks,reboots,sale and the loss of members Info and posts

So im back here now and I have say the site looks good.

Why now?

After several years of botched rebranding, Poor management hirings, and directionless leadership I feel the need to apologize to Club Members who have had their club taken from them and give them the correct info about what has happened and the future of this club

Let's start at the beginning of the chaos
4 or 5 years ago the National manager of Club sites( ex airport worker with no caravan park experience ) left.We expected his replacement to have relevant work experience Nope his replacement was a HSBC banker( no caravan park experience)....oh well

Then we had a new management position created above this new one
Again we hoped for someone with experience of our industry....you guessed it! Nope this new director of sites used to run catering for Wimbledon tennis Club

So we all got back to running the sites and waited
Next up was the rebranding.No wardens were consulted...we were kept in the dark on purpose whilst a fortune was spent on consultants fees who decided we needed a name change,a bland logo, and we all needed to be dressed in bilberry purple..great...it was a farce.membets knew more about the change than we did,the new saggy sweat shirts fell to bits and the purple site signs delam acted within weeks and were changed back to green ones
But we're stil wearing the awful Sainsbury's colour saggy sweat shirts
Again we got back to cutting site grass thinking we still had a club

Last month we had a couple of days at a very nice CAMC site in order to visit a C&MH show.

We were met by a super troop of friendly wardens. When we booked there were no pitches with electricity but when one warden was showing us our pitch he suggested that we could run our cable across the access road, and under a large rubber strip and get electricity from an unused point.
A nice touch!
When we left after our stay we said thanks and goodbye to this same warden saying that we would almost certainly be returning in the future.
HIs face turned a little glum when he told us that the owners (?) might be selling the land for 'other developments'!
He told us that this was possibly happening with several other sites.

Sad news if true. Maybe our new found 'guest' could confirm or deny?

I've still got over £900 of vouchers . We left Alderstead heath early due to travellers using the site. It was said that they cannot discriminate and they were members. However they were not abiding by the rules and no one would enforce them.

We are one of the couples that you like… respectful of the sites rules, don’t make loud noises after 9 pm and before 8 am, certainly do not have fights or arguments with others on sites!! It is a shame there wasnt a club that such idiots couldnt be excluded, and only have nice decent people enjoying their hard earned time off!

Interested to hear more as it will be a deciding factor as to whether we continue with our CAMC subs next year.

There will always be employees who feel those at the top don't "know the job" and in a lot of cases that is very important but with an organisation the size of CMHC the job of the top brass is to put people who do know in the correct roles.

Knowing business and finance is much more important for an organisation this size than what is the best sit-on Lawnmower.

Agree the rebrand was a bit crass, but nothing out of the ordinary. The colours chosen is of no consequence to anyone but marketing and sometimes the colour is due to other businesses already having the better colours.

Dealing with Joe public is probably your hardest part.

Other proposed changes may be just that proposal.

It's a well known and used tactic of Snr Mgmt to let suggestions travel on the wind and then try and keep your ear to the ground to gauge if they could get away with implementing it. Most of these suggestions never materialise because of the grumbling.

Of course they have considered deposits as nearly every other site/club does it.

From my perspective I'm happy to be a member and use the sites a lot. You know you'll get a nice maintained site and services which the Wardens should take great credit for.

I'd like to know a bit more about the regional management structure and their impact/influence they have and how they respond to good/bad feedback.
