Rally Chester food & drink festival 2018

Hello I have just booked Chester food festival with EHU as we are very much novices at this Motorhome stuff.
Information requested is that we are a couple in our 60s and we are definitely "Newbies".
Regards Lynn & Graham Cope

Hi you are down at No 100
If you have not yet could you have a look at the Rally Chat forum for Chester where you will wind all the information that is going on the first post has the basic information with lots added after.

Any questions please ask.

Booked paid prob not coming till Sunday or maybe sat evening if all goes well. No leccy

4 days to go until Chester and I've got a water heater in bits all over the floor of "Ethel" and no heater either ..... oh the fun of owning an 18 year old motorhome .
But I will be there!! (y)

I still have the Carver Cascade that I replaced with the Henry. I also had a leak underneath but when I tried to dismantle it the centre bolt snapped, it was quicker to get a new heater as we were also desperate. If the old parts could be of any use to you I can bring them to Chester, I think there was a service kit that I bought as well

Good to hear your optimism. A catalytic converter is on order for my mh and has to be fitted before Chester. I’m not so optimistic.

Oh heck we will have to find some way to keep you warm. Hope you can get it fixed, Eddie's just had our taps stripped down they were leaking, fingers crossed they are sorted now
Hope yours is sorted always Sod's law .

Thanks for that offer, I am pretty sure the tank seal is the problem and the source of the leak. I have one on order, hopefully it will arrive Tuesday and I can get it all back together.

Whether I fix the heating might depend on @Carol ..... and what she has in mind on ways to keep me warm ;):)

@Carol thank you for your kind offer of a place at Chester as we had to cut our French holiday early.
We had to come home as the water tank had sprung a serious leak and so the MH has to go to the dealers for repair so we won’t be able to make it.
Thanks again and I know all you Funsters will have a wonderful time , we loved the last two Easter’s at Chester and it was our first rally!!

Hi @Carol . I'm sure I saw an earlier arrival time than the 3.30 stated at the top of this thread, or did I dream that?

From Carols post #122 on the rally chat thread for Chester...
Information.
I have checked with Chester and you can arrive any time after 2.30 on Thursday 29th March.
The entrance has been widened this year so it is better access.
Please read the first post on the thread for information of what we have planned.
If you could give me an indication if you want to join in with the Cake Competion , Yoga, Nordic Walking, crocheting, Quiz it would help with organisation of it.
We are having a raffle so any raffle prizes would be appreciated @swanseajack13(Ray) is doing it.
If you could remember your number it will be a great help.
Any questions please ask.
Carol.

If it is your 1st Rally with Motorhome Fun please let us know.

Thanks @grumps147 (y)

INFORMATION.
I would confirm for Fun arrival after 2.30pm hopefully we will be organised and ready to get everyone parked up. It will be a great help if everyone has remembered their Number, has their £1 ready and know your forum name (you would be amazed how many don't )
If you have electric booked please have your email confirmation ready to show.

Any last minute questions please ask.

PS. My hair is not quite so red changed it a bit today lol.

Hi Carol et all
Yes just to confirm this is our first Fun Rally of many in our new van, we are number 88, and have booked EHU to be on the safe side with no solar at present time.
Really getting excited now, sod the weather forecast, we are glass half fulls:).
Best wishes to all.
TinaL & Les

Hi @TinaL (88) thank you for your up date, what a nice post appreciated, love your attitude that's the spirit of fun, look forward to meeting you.
Would say lol I put my avatar on to show my hair so everyone would recognise me lol did it yesterday they have changed the formula and it's not quite that red but I'm sure you'll find me.
Have a safe journey just join in, have you got your Easter Bonnet it's all about a bit of fun,
Carol x

INFORMATION.
As the Food Festival officially finishes Monday afternoon, we have been given permission to stay until Tuesday again this year, we must be off from the site by 11am Tuesday and the Electric gets put off some time on Monday afternoon..

Carol.

Thanks @Carol
Yes no one will miss you with your new Red Hair Colour, Just trying to remember if its the same as when you were on tele doing the Out & About Live Vlog, we half expected to see you on The Jungle Get Me out of Here next!:) must get your autograph, but will ask your agent first.
Just thinkin?, would it be a good idea to take something to put under the front drive wheels when parked up, or is that over the top?, Only guessing how muddy/wet the Field must be after all the rain we have had.
Cheers to all
Les & TinaL

Hi @TinaL , a very good idea, not over the top at all it can get very muddy but we always have a tractor available to tow us off.
Carol :)

I seen the ground yesterday and it looks quite good, it's after we all finish with it the trouble starts..

INFORMATION
Once again we ask everyone to follow the marshals advice and park facing one direction, this is for the sole purpose that you can be pulled off by tractor if necessary if you park the wrong way around the tractor driver will leave you until last, and you could have a long wait.
It is essential you only park on the permitted area and don't get on the the cordoned off areas .
Thank you.

Just "follow the marshals advice" You'll be fine (y)

I have to add in past years while many of the men have sat waiting for the tractor @movan (Joy) just smiles and drives off under her own steam. :D
