Campsite charges

Greed and shortsightedness.

Saddened by the people trying to take advantage, I am sure they will suffer when things return to normal.
I totally agree with you, and hope they do suffer, but when you think about it, the only reason they can do it and get away with it is because there are people foolish enough to pay their exorbitant price hikes, judging by some of the responses I’ve read on here and other group websites there seems to be quite a lot of folk that don’t see any wrong in them profiteering and are quite happy to continue patronising them whilst being exploited.

I'd go hungry and thirsty before I'd go in Wetherspoons and line Tim Martins pockets.

I’d rather line Tim Martins pockets than some of the big brewery chains, at least he charges a very reasonable price for a good selection of decent beers, you can get a pint of Guinness in most Wetherspoons throughput the country for £2.89. There’s not another pub I’ve ever been in that charges less than at least £3.50 and the closer you get to London the closer it gets to a £5. Just my experience.

I guess auctions will be banned soon as they are ripping people off who can’t bid as much. Money is everything always has been always will be.

Cool, I'll pay my £4.40 here in Suffolk for a pint of Guinness before I'll buy it cheaper and not line the pockets of someone who treats his staff so appallingly, each to their own.

As a publican I can tell you the reason why Guinness is so expensive is because it is extortionate to buy from suppliers. The trouble is Diageo have monopolised the stout market. There are some really lovely stouts out there! But if it isn't Guinness your average stout drinker is blind to it and doesn't want it. Therefore you pay a premium for it Guinness.

When I was bar manager for an independent place I refused to stock it. The price they charged was outrageous. Even at £4.90 I would have been making by far the least % profit on that product of anything else on the bar.

Just had 2 nights at CMC Exebridge (Exmoor) very nice site with good pub nearby selling Exmoor Ale. Price on booking £51.40 actual cost with current VAT reduction was £44.98 for the 2 nights. Site was almost full, mainly caravans.

I stayed earlier this week near Saundersfoot in West Wales. Griffithston Farm is a short walk from town and beach. Nice site, good views and decent enough facilities but at £25/night, I felt a bit pricy. No club sites free.

We've just paid £50 a night in Burnham Deepdale on the Norfolk coast!! and it was full. View of a wildflower meadow was nice though.
It was £50 per night last year so at least they haven't put their prices up.
