Campsite charges

They now have to call it Bud because the original Czech brewery Budweiser Budvar has the European rights to the Budweiser name. Shame the US lot didn’t make a better job of copying the original and turned it into a joke beer.

We seem to have strayed from the original subject.

That was done to death anyway, 'beer' is more interesting.
I tried Coors beer the other day apparently it's recently been rebranded from Coors light. Not as nice as Bud light though 😋

Tell you what guys you need to try the beer that Griff097 produces great stuff. Looks like some will be available on the July rally if you are lucky enough to be going.

I used to have this sometimes when having dinner at mum's, but they've stopped making it..

Extra light 😆 Great when you've got to drive later, at 2% and 25p a can 😂

👆 That was the beer the media were moaning about because it was "cheaper than water"

There is something worse than Bud! Try the Czech stuff from the real Budweiser brewery.

Bought a case of that Czech stuff by mistake in Dubai. The branding looked very similar for a guy on a mission. Anyway, rubbish i can tell you.

Worst beer I've had are the little 25cl French bottles, gharrrstly aftertaste 🤢 and the Portuguese Argus branded cans from lidl, horrible taste as if they've used the dregs of the the brewing tank 😖

I find the Czech Budweiser Budvar infinitely nicer than the flavourless US Bud. I guess we all have different tastes.

Actually 🤔 if you can taste it you've definitely NOT got covid😁
Evidently my comment was too subtle.

They'd sold out of carling in Newquay wetherspoons........

They're probably hanging on to it to serve with their two-for-one lunches for the G7 world leaders. :giggler:

Is It just me or has anyone else noticed how campsite fees are rocketing, are we being taken for mugs by these companies trying to make up loses in lockdown.?
your thoughts welcome.
Joe
I think we’ve all noticed the massive rise in some site fees imposed by some owners, thankfully not all sites have resorted to this, Not that they needed to rip us off anyway because apparently site bookings are up by such a huge percentage that they reckon it will virtually cancel out their losses for the past year, it’s simply greed brought on by huge demand, most sites say they are fully booked till end of September I hope people remember these ripoff sites if and when things ever get back to normal and then boycott them, and name and shame.

You’d be daft not to expect a modest rise in rates and if the place is good and the service good would you really begrudge it ? Personally if it costs me a few quid to keep the good ones going and a success then , in my eyes , that’s an investment - not a cost .

Even in a more normal year it might be a bit late for booking coastal sites in the hotspots of Devon and Cornwall. It has been clear for months that demand this year was going to be exceptionally high and it is no surprise that some prices have gone up or that some sites are full. However there are many sites that have not increased their prices and still have peak period vacancies but you may need to do some hunting around. Fortunately the internet makes hunting around for sites and prices reasonably easy.

We've just paid £50 a night in Burnham Deepdale on the Norfolk coast!! and it was full. View of a wildflower meadow was nice though.

PS, that Speckled Hen clone we had was 5.5% so your bound to notice a few of those, I calibrated my hydrometors to double check and they are spot on.
Had a lovely London Porter earlier, just the one though ;)

The way the floor was moving I am sure that brew was higher than 5.5%.

I used to use this for slug traps in the garden. Wouldn't have thought it was fit for human consumption though. 😉

Lost count of how many to trips I've had away and still not stayed on a site. Wild camping and Britstops all the way for me.

No payment except a few pints in a pub, a few meals in eateries, a food shop at a farm shop thus supporting local business hit hard by covid, like my own pub!

Payment for wild camping is littler picking, which I have done in every spot.

I'm a FLT and proud. And no one is "ripping me off". 😉

Please tell me that wasn't Deepdale camping?
That would be for one of their fully serviced super pitches which have always been expensive. The standard pitches start at £20. Their showers are good sized individual rooms with toilet, basin and WC. It is also one of the few sites on this particular stretch of coast because the local authority does not allow them, or other new sites, to take caravans.

I don’t see why we should expect a rise whether modest or not, even if the place is good, the service couldn’t be considered good when they decide they are going to exploit you, would you feel the same if all the pubs decided to hike their prices, I don’t think so, I certainly won’t resort to paying over the norm just to “keep them going” their normal prices are enough. Just my view.
