big mistake posting a picture of yourself ??

OMG that is such a coincidence! Just Yesterday, I saw and bought a 30" guitar in a charity shop. I hadn't even been looking for one. I asked is it a guitar or a banjo, and another customer said no, banjo's are rounder. I was pretty sure she was not necessarily right but didn't say anything, and here today is a picture, again not looked for, that shows I was right!
Thanks Marion! The two girls on either end (myself and Deb) are WASPI women who had to wait an extra six years for our bus passes!

If you bought something with six strings, it’s a guitar. However if it only has 4 strings it’s a ukulele - or as far as JJ ‘s concerned - The Spawn of The Devil!

A friend of mine once said to me "what I love about you is what you see is what you get" she was from Yorkshire, can someone translate please

Gina
Something like this….

Eur bonnie lad o' mine once sez ta uz "wha' ah love abaht theur is wha' theur see is wha' theur get" shi wor fra Yorksha.

:ROFLMAO::rofl:

Oops, ok my bad! I always thought banjos and ukuleles were the same thing. Apologies for miscalling your instruments.

eta Crossposted! I actually googled to check my info. ;D

Banjos have 4 strings and guitars have 6. Here we go, down to me as usual but this thread is going into a completely different direction !! anyway, talking of guitars made me fetch mine from behind the sofa. 15 years ago I decided I wanted to learn to play the guitar. I bought an acoustic guitar and booked my first lesson. But then a chocolate brown labradoodle puppy bounced into my life so that was the end of that. Learn to play, I can't even hold it properly :giggle:

Ah yes, but guitars can also have 4 strings or 12 strings as well. There are a lot of 5 string banjos around as well - my canadian cousin's redneck partner plays one.

Just keeping it totally off track. I liked your picture, anyway:Smile:

Me when I was a ‘little younger’…….5 decades ago! o_O

I call it my ‘Rory Gallagher’ look…….. ;)

I love the way conversations evolve on here. This thread was started last night after my niece sent a photo of me she had taken a few weeks ago. She said I love this one of you. I said no, don't like it resend it with my teeth whiter, the spot on my chin removed and my waist 6 inches smaller :ROFLMAO: She is always air brushing her own pics though bless her. I have told her she is in trouble if ever she meets up with any of the guys and girls she talks to online as they won't recognise her :giggle:

Not telling my full Porn name as my mothers maiden name is used in some online securities and seeing as anyone can read these posts don’t think it’s a good idea.
Agree which is why I won't give mine although it would be boring anyway.

I thought most people these days knew never to use those things for passwords , securities etc.
Sometimes they are required for identity checks etc.

You just have to get better at not telling the full truth:wink::lipssealed:
Only if not really required.

Yes. "What I love about you is what you see is what you get" Good old fashioned English is that. I understood it too

Gina
Just realised what that looks like to everyone on here :giggler::blusher:

.........unless it's a Tenor Guitar 😎

Guitar size and shape but only 4 strings.

That would confuse the hell out of JJ 🤪

@JJ: looked at the above thread, sorry to say this but time has not been good to you since 2016
It's make up, dear boy, make up...

JJ
