I bought the Vanhaus one and the battery doesn’t seem to hold it’s charge - so not always ready but it does have the 12v lead to plug in (with engine running!)I now carry a rechargeable compressor which works well and is always ready for an emergency.

It is a good unit but like you say battery doesn't hold it's charge, I always charge it before a trip, eaiser than using the 12v lead. Also recharge after using it.I bought the Vanhaus one and the battery doesn’t seem to hold it’s charge - so not always ready but it does have the 12v lead to plug in (with engine running!)
If it is just a one off and something has drained the battery you will probably get away with it . If the battery is more than 4 years old probably worth replacing.Sat waiting for recovery cant see them having a battery we are in France heading to Spain . If he just jump starts will we be ok or do we need a new battery to continue
In France Norauto are good for batteries. A sort of French Halford. They had a starter battery for us when ours started heating and smelling a few weeks back. Fitted it too in spite of it being under a seat and a sod to get at.Sat waiting for recovery cant see them having a battery we are in France heading to Spain . The van haus one holds charge fine if you remove the battery when you're not using it will then hold charge for months.I bought the Vanhaus one and the battery doesn’t seem to hold it’s charge - so not always ready but it does have the 12v lead to plug in (with engine running!)

Found that out too late.Especially with the more powerful 12v compressors it is essential to run the engine when pumping up tyres. They draw a high current and barely work below 13v. So you need the alternator to be charging
Why would(should) you not do that?Jump start yourself off your hab batteries.
