"A Year in Spain" My "last gasp" attempt at posting (informative info).

We have a 7.4m motorhome, do you think it will make it?

The fish/seafood trucks use it. It's a one-way route that they put in place at busy times so you're not going to meet anyone coming from the opposite direction. The length of a vehicle shouldn't make any difference. We're 6.5 m and have no problem.

We had a day of mizzle and steady rain yesterday but woke to a dry morning. We ended up with four vehicles parked overnight. We decided to have another day off from riding and drove the 50km to our present stop. It’s a purpose built parking but not in the prettiest of places. It's OK for tonight though and I've found a ride for tomorrow, all being well.

We passed a P4N picnic area on the way here. It’s at a Roman Bridge (Brandomil) and would make a good overnight stop if arriving later in the day.

We arrived at our present spot just after two others had pulled in. A Brit van and a SP registered van travelling together. The Brit van had had their two emtbs stolen from the back of their van whilst they were parked overnight in the queue for the ferry at Portsmouth. They are trying to buy a couple to use until October. The other van belongs to their friends who live in Tarifa, and they are all heading down there over the next week or so. They were (are still) hoping to do some riding.

We were in our usual spot in the shade. We're now "officially" parked 😂 alongside the others.

Martin felt well enough to ride this morning, and I'd found a pretty good ride to do.

It was two loops. The first of which climbed up high to a viewpoint (newly constructed), before dropping back down and taking us through forests and hamlets.

We're staying here again tonight and then we might head to the motorhome area on the Via Verde tomorrow.

Stef is a bit down (from her WhatsApp posts) so we might need to meet up with her again soon. We think she's finding lone travelling, with only a dog for company, for so long, a bit difficult.

Our Brit neighbours here, who had their bikes knicked in Portsmouth, have, today, managed to buy one replacement from a local town.... he's been out for a ride, and he's still smiling on his return.

His wife, however, is still waiting for a replacement bike for her.

(She's been eyeing up "his" bike and she rode it around the parking here with no problems) 🤔🤣

We envy you. Plenty of time to be on the van around :giggle:
We're about to finish a short trip in the french Pirineos, just four days 😭
Wednesday back to work.
Enjoy your galician trip!

We're loving Galicia again, for the fourth summer now. We think, the small hiccoughs forgotten now, that this year has been the best yet.

Sorry that you're having to go back to work 😥

I don't know how you are managing to live in those conditions.
Quite easy. Take Alf for a walk 🚶‍♂️. Come home ,shut door and wait until it gets dark :ROFLMAO: 🥵
's fiesta weekend here, national holiday on Tuesday, so we can expect greater numbers of weekenders ....
And ideal for the Tuesday semi final Spain v Sweden in women's world 🌎 cup

We "found" Galicia during the Pandemic when we could start to travel and we didnt want to leave Spain (parts of Galicia were still out of bounds on our first trip). We love summers here. Our Murcian friends keep telling us tales of their day to day lives and living with high temperatures, and we're coping with low to mid 20° most days (with some occasional rain).

We know where we'd rather be, amd know we're lucky to have the choice.

I think it beats being in Murcia in May

Judith, you usually give enough info to allow my interpretive skills to glean whereabouts you are; but not here. Gimme a clue, PF?

Ooops sorry. We were at the motorhome area of Vall de Dubra. Not a pretty place, as I've said, but we spent two nights there anyway!

It has numerous bars and two decent supermarkets, and the riding was very good.

We're now at today's spot. I'll post some info soon.

We stopped and had a look at the bridge on our way to Fisterra a few years ago, looked like a good spot for the night.

Thanks Toni, but unfortunately, he feels "off" again today. Maybe he'll be OK tomorrow. He might have done too much yesterday.

So today, we're here

There are four vans here, and there are actually 14 numbered places, not 10. We went for a walk, but Martin needed to come back, so we've foraged some mint and fennel to add to our salad. Hopefully we might get out for a ride tomorrow 🤞🤞

Hopefully, it'll be as quiet here as the previous place.

That must have been traumatic for them. From the photo it looks like they have a tow-ball mounted rack. Of course a few £Ks of bike in full view is going to be very attractive to thieves. You can get alarms to protect bikes on racks but even if it goes off if you are tucked up in bed when it happens I suspect the thieves and bikes might have gone by the time you are up. But an alarm, ideally with flashing lights would have been a deterrent.

They have an alarm now. Martin gifted one to them this morning to protect their new acquisition. It's actually a tiny panic alarm that can be attached and when the pin is pulled the sound is pretty loud.

(The worst of it is that Yvonne heard a sound in the night and thought it was a gull on the roof).
