A new one for us. Aire-sur-La-Lyse, just about 35 miles south of Calais. A lovely spot by a canal and river on an old municipal camp site, which now just takes motorhomes. Not a Camping Car Park. €15 for 16amp leccy, nice toilets and showers. And I’ve just seen an otter Otter Spotter

Quick update - we left Portel-des-Corbieres and travelled towards Perpignan. The N116 from Bourge Madame to Perpignan is quite simply stunning 👍 We stayed at La Sabadelles camp site in Le Cap d'Agde for the next 3 nights. No picture from the campsite unless you wanted to see another Moho - we had one each side, one in front and one behind us ☹️ Great dog-friendly beach and restaurants though👍 We left on Monday and bypassed Montpellier then up the equally spectacular N906 from Ales. We intended to stay at the free aire at Villefort but didn't fancy it so pushed on to the free Aire at La Bastide-Puylaurent. Great site, in a municipal park by the side of the river and 5 minutes from bars and restaurants. And a great view too👍

Today we left La Bastide-Puylaurent (little known fact - Robert Louis Stevenson stayed in the Monastery here many years ago)

and continued along the N906 towards Thiers. Turned off near Courpiere and headed for our next overnight stop at Roanne. It's 8 euros for 24 hours, water and ehu available at extra cost and right next to the canal which is full of houseboats. The city centre is a steady 20 mins walk down the towpath and over the bridge.

Off Mainland again, and on to Rousay.

Peedie Farm Motorhome Stopover, a CAMpRA certified location.

Martin is an engineer on the ferry and made sure to greet us and provide some useful information, and told us where to find the eggs!!

Talking of pictures and vans.

If I had a panel van conversion MH which had opening rear doors to the living or sleeping compartment I'd get a photo taken of the inside from the back with the doors open. Then crop it so didn't show the doors. Then get it blown up to real size and glue the photo over the rear doors.

Driving down the road it would appear from behind that the MH was totally open at the back !

Maybe it's just my sense of humour.
