A photo of the day thread

1st pic Jungfrau from the top road.
Not the best day to drive The Sustenpass. When the rain stopped and the clouds cleared a bit the views are spectacular. Thanks for reminding me it was there.
So many passes, must have done 12/15 or so over the years.
Then went to Grindelwald at the foot of the Eiger. Top was shrouded in cloud but one got the picture (well i will when madam sends them to me from her phone)

Today. I know it’s expensive to drive over and I know it doesn’t save that much time etc etc, but what a feat of design (take a bow Norman Foster) and engineering this Millau bridge is.

Booked for tomorrow to go to the top.
Realised Murren is car free so we are going from Stechelberg up to Murren.
3 cable cars in all.
I think we got some discount for being really old and a card we got from the site, instead of €107 we paid €76 each return. Happy with taht i think.

Yes you get good discount from the camp reception I think 30%, I never got the really old bugger discount though :crying: :crying:

There are some disadvantages to being young and good looking😁😁😁
 
Forgot to say, where are all the Chinese on the main street ? Millions of them there in May/June when we were there🤔🤔🤔

A few but not too many.
Had lunch in a restaurant on the main street today and people watched.
Seemed to be more Asians (Indians, Sri Lankans etc) than Chinese.

Said the same to Mrs CC a while back that a lot more Asians seem to travel to Europe than I have noticed before,

Strange that you don’t see them travelling around in vans though, maybe the motorhome culture has not caught on in their countries🤔🤔

Did you manage to go to the visitor centre. Really interesting.
 
The visitor centre tourist information and restaurant is closed down now, such a shame.
 
Cirrieshalloch Gorge, great sight, don't realuse how long fall is until you get to the viewpoint. Note the bridge you can walk over above the fall

Being battered by 40+ mph winds at Altnaharra, don't think we will get any sleep tonight. The driver's side door seals are useless against the wind(fiat ducato 21 plate) its blowing a gale inside !
