A photo of the day thread

Know what you mean… my wife is completely in love with her Lounge 500. Sadly it’s not reciprocated, latest bill was for a new clutch & recon gearbox at 35k miles!
So the Fix It Again Tomorrow stands eh

At Old Oaks ….just a short walk to the Tor

Just out of interest, what are they charging these days? Very nice site, but was always pricey.
We’ve booked 2 nights with 1 day fishing £85.55…. But it is a really lovely site, beautifully kept and friendly staff.

Ok, was expecting you to say £50+, so not too bad for a popular site in peak season.

What a lovely day out at a really really good Steam Traction Fair.
All sorts to look at, too much in fact. So facinated with most i forgot to take pics.
Anyway.
The Blue Jag E-Type Coupe was Gergie Best's, nice.
Must have been 500 tractors there, some propper weird one.
Grandson wants to take the Bentley 3/ n arf........he has good taste.
The rest of the pics work out for yourselfs.
Just realised i didn't take any of the star attraction, The traction Engines and there were scores and scores of em. Think DiL did so will do them later.
Ask if you want to know.

Bit of an unusual stopover. Visited the massive Völklingen Ironworks in Germany. It's a UNESCO World Heritage site due to the fact that it is a uniquely well preserved example of a late 19th century / early 20th century iron works. It's now a museum and art / exhibition venue.

Having paid your €17 entry fee you get handed a hard hat and can explore the vast complex at will, including really high gantries over the blast furnaces.

Not much mention of the forced labour and horrendous conditions during the two world wars, but a fascinating way to spend 3 hours.

There's a free aire / stellplatz in the museum carpark, with fresh water and chemical disposal available for a euro each.

SWMBO has eventually finished her serving wench outfit for the Oktober fest rally later this year. Not found any shoes yet.

Great outfit, but I’d leave her in trainers, she’ll be much quicker fetching the Steiners in them 👍🏻🙄

The tallest Yew hedge in the world……is in Cirencester!
