A photo of the day thread

Today we drove down the Route des grand crus, in Burgundy, to Chalon sur Saone site via Beaune.
First stop appropriate for today.

When we had our place in Burgundy, Chalons-sur-Sâone was our nearest large town.

Market on Friday, lunch at Le Verre Galant in the square by the Cathedral. Loved it there.
Good to hear Maison, we are at Camping du Pont de Bourgogne but think it's too far to walk into centre, what do you think. We have elderly dog so it does hinder us a little.

We spent 16 years living in Burgundy for six months each year and visited Dijon regularly. We loved the whole area from there down to Maçon.
What we're struggling with is not really getting close enough to Villages etc and enjoying the local foods, size of motorhome does cause us a problem. We would have loved to go into Villages off main road between Dijon and Beaune wine route but didn't as we were worried we'd get stuck. Thinking of heading Macon/Cluny way on Tuesday but it's trying to find suitable sites. Cheers Smudger55

Bit of a result at the storage yard today. Owner asks if I’d move the van, which I did, then we laid a new membrane over part of the parking bay, then back filled, levelled and finally rolled. Winner.

Happy Bear 🐻

My wife has bilateral knee replacements but managed the walk OK.

If you walk in there are plenty of restaurants/bars to sit at and watch the world go by while you rest before the return walk. However, only you can decide.

Whatever you do, have a good holiday, there are plenty of sites to see around there.

EDIT

Sorry, I have just seen your photos and realise that you made it!🙂

Parked on the spotless free village aire at Chasselay, Isère. Part of the community centre with bar/cafe/shop and 4 gites available. View towards the Vercor Massif, location of the tragic Resistance Battle following D Day. No time to visit unfortunately as we were heading for Briançon and then a fast blast on the Autostrada to the Adriatic.

This morning at Porto Sant’Elpidio. Breakfast on the beach and the resident water baby couldn’t resist a dip.

Now at Termoli in the dedicated camper area of the marina - €15 a night including showers/wc with a bar and restaurant adjacent. Just had a bimble around the old town with people watching in the main square - us in shorts and shirts getting tanned, the Italians wrapped up in puffer jackets!

On site within an olive farm near Utrera, about 30km south of Seville.
15 euros a night including 6a ehu, services etc.
1 euro for a hot shower.
Small swimming pool as well.
I chose the hard standing pitch but others are parked up in the olive groves.
I'm based here for the Motogp at Jerez.

Chaser, this any good?
Not quite in the same league, but there's a guy on YouTube who's putting the turbo engine out of his Grandad's old Daihatsu 4Trak into an old Grey Fergie (yes he has been accused of heresy !) He's a canny Yorkshire one man agri/welder repair tyke, that dabbles in low cost tractor pulling.
