A photo of the day thread

My BIL and SIL are touring the Murray River in Oz.

They were having trouble getting signal for the game.

Not many XK 150's around now. I once had a customer who had two, red and blue. I only discovered that as I asked him if he'd had his car resprayed, not having seen the second one. "Oh no, that's my other one" was the response to my enquiry.

I origonally went to buy a XK 150. But whilst there to check it over Bertie was also there. I had a look and put the same value on both.
Bertie came up 1st and i won. The XK went for £10k more than i valued it so had i let Bertie go i wouldn't have got the XK and would have ended up with nothing on that particular day.

Seeing bobnick photo’s I thought I would post this.

My two current bikes, a 2021 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, (the orange one for those not into bikes), and my latest acquisition a 1980 Honda CB400N as a classic bike ie over 40 years old.

I rode the Honda to a Classic bike show on Friday getting it totally wet and dirty so it had to be cleaned on-site. On the way home yesterday it decided that it didn’t like its present chain and threw it off. Thankfully no damage and it didn’t cause me to come off. I already have a new chain and sprocket set but didn’t have time to change them before the show. Lesson learned!

I was sitting on the deck this afternoon and heard a noise that could only be "warbirds".
I am not an aviation buff, but I think the big one is an Avro Anson that was restored by a local man and is currently for sale. We're all hoping it stays in NZ and that perhaps Sir Peter Jackson will add it to his collection.

Spotted this guy when I was hanging out the washing, not sure what it is though ?

It’s a Dark-Edged Bee Fly……..

’A strange looking insect with its furry body and patterned wings. The long proboscis is used for drinking nectar and the fly is totally harmless’
