There is a big problem with small shops on high streets as many get an exemption from paying business rates so the local authorities don’t give a toss if they close down due to low footfall, they would rather do vanity projects such as shopping centres where planning and councillors can throw their weight about and maybe make a puck on the side.Wonder what their strategy is.
