Taken tonight after leaving the bar. I like the picture because it’s a bit blurry because I had four pints and could not hold the camera still but I wanted a picture of the moon through the trees. Anyway I like the way it turned out.

That brings back memories. Used to carry out the bi-annual cull of the Soay Sheep, goats and Sika deer on Lundy back in the 90s. The goats horns and the Sika antlers hanging in the Marisco Tavern are my mementos from that time that they wanted to keep. I went back over with Mrs Orion and sister and BiL pre-Covid for a January short stay - helicopter there and back - and stayed in the best 2 person accommodation on the island, Castle Cottage. Top tip if you’re tempted to stay, try and time it for the period of the full moon, if the weather is good it’s spectacular out there.

Yesterday was just like a summers day and you could see Lundy as clear as a bell and with a full moon last night I would have loved to have been sat outside the Marisco with a nice pint. Real shame about the fire on baggy in the summer.
