A photo of the day thread

This year's edition....guess where I am 😉

Ordered a new bed for Reggie to sleep on in the Moho instead of lugging his house bed in and out all the time. It was due to be delivered on the 20th June. Then we were told it was "Lost by Hermes" and we could have a refund. Agreed to that.

17:35 today. Hermes delivered it. Or rather rang the bell and left it propped against the front door and cleared off.... Outer wrapping torn but otherwise it looks okay! He seems to like it anyway.

bobnick, check the numbers on the heads of the failed bolts, they're probably 8.8s, which are common or garden ones, you really want 10.9 high tensile ones and not threaded full length, just enough thread to fasten up nicely as extra threads weaken the bolts and can provide a shear point for failure.

Obviously i did not know or understand, consequently my result.
BUT posting it might make others think.

Northumberland, South Tyne at Eals, nice to see uncut verges and a rampant profusion of wild flowers. The Melancholy Thistles (a North of England upland species preferring unimproved meadows) putting on a good show and alive with bees and other pollinators well done to the local council for not cutting them back.

Took a drive to Waters Edge, Barton upon Humber. Happened to be an old car exhibition. The Austin & Mini reminded me of my dad driving us around as kids.
Car park was FREE.

Last photo for funsters to LOVE HULL. Looking back across to Hull.

Went out to mow the back lawn this morning and found these two Privet Hawk moths up to naughty things. :giggle:
Moved them on to next door's privet hedge where I hope that they will feel more at home.

Looks like they could do with a private hedge rather than a privet hedge! :inlove:
