A photo of the day thread

Well, I was distinctly underwhelmed with Lindisfarne. No atmosphere and the National Trust and English Heritage divvied up the Priory and The Castle between them!

There was a lovely walk around the island though, with things we would much rather look at!

Just as well I left the uke in the van …

There are some beautiful seaside towns here though, Alnmouth, Seahouses, Amble, and the absolutely gorgeous Warkworth…

It reminded me of a French village!

And the lovely Amble ..,

And on my travels, I always need an answer from DBK - what’s this one John - and would it survive in a south facing soft southern back garden?

Star of Persia I think or a close relative. :)

Interesting take on a Stealth MH but the wrong camouflage scheme for an urban environment. :)

It's has been at Lee Mill, Devon, for a few weeks but is unoccupied so the owner must live locally. I'm not sure of the make, an Autotrail perhaps? Hab door is on the left.

We did the Craster to Dunstunburgh Castle walk today. There are a lot of Castles up here…

The last bit of the walk was through a field of sheep. Some immaculate…

Some a little less so …

Craster is famous for kippers and smoked salmon …

And I’m thinking of putting my name down on the Craster Council Housing list…

There was a whole long row, all with a wonderful sea view!

I often read on here about the Viaduct de Millau.

Here's a new take on it. :) It's FB so won't be visible to everyone. If you can't it shows a lass sliding off the bridge on her bum before vanishing into the void. A couple of screenshots give a flavour. I assume she survived. :)

Long drive today to Brookside Country Park, Burton upon Stather. This part of the trip another family do.
Pictures from bank of River Trent at the Ferry House pub just round the corner.
Adults only site. Good size pitches.

And not a Sea Salt/Blanc du Nil/Fat Face/Animal/White Stuff/Jules etc etc shop to be seen in ANY of the lovely little harbour towns we’ve visited!

No ridiculously expensive coffee shops either!

Don't buy cheap.
Bought these nuts and bolts off Amazon as needed longer ones to fit the scooter rack.
Yesterday a couple of times the rack scraped the floor when it should not have.
On inspection i find one of the bolts had snapped and the other was bent ready for snapping.
A lucky escape. If that rack had fallen off with scooter attached who know what could have happened.
Anyway, we are in a rural location. Where do we find new nuts and bolts.
Thank you Mr Frenchman.
Being rural a base for John Deere Tractors about 10 Ks away. On the scooter we go (thank go we had it:unsure::rolleyes::rolleyes:)
A near miss for sure.

I said i wouldn't but couldn't resist.
So here are some of Rocamadour.
Lion D’Or - stayed here a few years ago on a coach holiday. Lovely old building full with antique furniture with the restaurant across the Lane. Only bad thing was I got bitten by, what I assume were, bed bugs 😳

I had to wait for the huge fish feeding on flies to stop because the ripples were spoiling the view. The poor old Frenchman who was fishing was watching the fish feed all around his float, with not one single bite. Fish 1 Frenchie 0. I do love France.

Must be one of the most bizarre sights to see in the Scottish Highlands.....

TUI's Cruise Ship, Mein Schiff 4,
berthed at Invergordon, Cromarty Firth.
