A photo of the day thread

Afternoon out with little grandaughter in Abbey grounds. Beautiful, hot day but wanted to swim with the fish in the pond... sweltering. :)

Folkranger, where is the campsite, please? Lovely photos.
Nunnykirk C&MC club site Northumberland. One of the few left with no hardstanding or toilet block. Love it. But the flowers are all common Btitish wild flowers including: buttercup, dandelion, daisy, hawthorns, bluebell, speedwell and wild garlic that we call onion stinkers.

While driving up through France, we saw a small low blue car pull out of a junction a few hundred yards ahead of us.
We came up behind it at a set of traffic lights and found it to be an original Renault Alpine A110

My two Swiss brother mates from Basel, had one each, one exactly as above in Blue, the other was Yellow, so I nicknamed it "The Shit Hot Banana" which caught on in The Renault Alpine Owners Club, I am told. Sadly Cheggy the eldest brother had to sell his as part of matrimonial settlement, sadly he has never been the same since the breakdown.
Great fun to drive but you need to keep the revs up, especially on steep mountain tight bends before giving it the gutty out the other side, or the twin Webber's instantly flood.
Worth a few bob these days, hard to find an original one.

Our budding future Modern Pentathlete 10 y/o grandson has gone and got himself a new (bigger) dobbin to ride and jump. Doing quite well in the short time they’ve been acquainted by all accounts!

Eldest daughter came upon this nest of horrors while out walking the dog - looks like something from a Stephen King novel, although I believe they are a variety of ‘tent’ caterpillars.

Thing is our client, The Governmnet, have paid for those chairs (through us) and don't want them after the conference and asked if we can dispose of them.............it's quite normal. We have 4 big godowns (wharehouses) full of stuff clients don't want/have no use for.

Sell packs of them to Morelo as part of the 'Outdoor seating kit'. They look like they'd match the decor.

interesting title 'waste to energy' - wonder how much energy was wasted for all that stuff to end up in a warehouse - I friend now retired did similar , not as glamorous as Dubai - more like the NEC they too disposed of the set once the conferences/exhibitions were over - at one stage I think he had carpeted all of his families homes in 50 shades of Grey ;)

and they are promoting 'Waste to Energy'

Reminds me, back in the 80's when I worked for a New Malden company called FilmCraft.
They supplied props for the film and TV companies, (I once spent all day, & 100mls, delivering two separate Hula-Hoops to the BBC for the Little & Large Show) not much appears to have changed regarding spend money?

Edit: Just seen Nanniemate post, it seems our first thoughts were similar!

Took a ride along the Verdon Gorge road. Just past a place called Pointe Sublime, was a road down to the gorge floor. Where the was a path to tunnels cut through the rock, giving great views below.

Took some photos at waters edge. Only coming back up did we see a sign saying beware near waters edge as power station further up could release massive
