A photo of the day thread

The Strelitzia Reginae at the north end of our first floor conservatory - aka ‘Garden in the Sky’ or ‘Le Restaurant en Terrasse’ as we nicknamed it during the lockdowns - is really getting going. It’s about 2 months later than usual for some reason, although the one at the south end has been blooming for the past 6 weeks or so. Even the Hawaiian Palm to the lower right is showing signs of flowering, so it’s a strange old year all round.

Just received from youngest daughter is a pic of our 10 y/o grandson at his Pony Club Tetrathlon residential training weekend - running, shooting (air pistol), and cross-country riding, (usually includes swimming but I guess the horse troughs were too short at the venue ). He’s been doing really well and came 7th overall in the recent Nationals despite it being his first year and one of the youngest in his age group. Really proud grandparents and hopefully looking at a future Modern Pentathlon star. (y)

That’s a lovely older ‘Wing combo with the van. (y)

Out of interest have you seen this ‘Wing breakdown recovery unit before? Has caravan towing capability as well!

Might be okay in Lincolnshire but I’m not sure how it would handle even moderate inclines fully loaded!

1832cc engine and bags of torque but if I remember correctly they had problems with the clutches burning out. The towing dolly folds up and stows on the back of the bike so that it can get through traffic to a stranded vehicle that may be blocking the road.

The Dubai police had a fleet of those for towing illegally parked cars. Saw one towing a 3 ton pick up fully loaded. Handy tool.
