A photo of the day thread

We had similar on our last van, ours was a
carbuncle, made it feel as tho we were running over lumps!

I heard a strange noise coming from the back of the van. I thought I’d left a roof vent open but when I checked the exterior I discovered a partially shredded rear near side tyre. Had to call the AA ‘cos the Fiat jack is as useful as a chocolate teapot. The woman on the AA call centre didn’t understand what I meant by “near side“. Is it an old fashioned term?

What's the age of the tyre?

What's the age of the tyre?
Six years old, so we were due to replace it, plus the one on the other side.
The AA man seemed to think I had driven over something.
We will be buying another tyre on Monday, plus a cheaper one to carry as a spare.

Day out to Great Dixter house and gardens. Think it’s our new fave place to visit.

Looks like it’s got a far bit of cracking in the base of thread

As opposed to the off side.
I must admit that when I was learning to drive, many years ago, it took me a long time to remember which was the passenger side and which was the driver’s side.
I still can’t remember which is port and which is starboard!

I always think "The boat has LEFT port"

And I still have probs with east & west. But my dad told me that Wales is west :)

Hergiswill, Switzerland. A rare free site with one of the best views I can remember overlooking Lake Lucerne.
I knew that one straight away. Never been, but had my eye on it for that view and it being free in Switzerland. Looks a great stop

Kids learning about kites on our rally at Heighington.View attachment 612857
Ooh, I Do like a bit of kite flying !
Do they still hold the kite festival at Washington ? I think the last time we were going there, we got diverted the wrong way up the A1 because the police had shut the big roundabout at the A69/A1 junction because of the Raul Moat incident.
