Caught a sighting of some wildlife (other than the cows). Zoom in about 2 o'clock from the tree shadow.

Stunning countryside.

We were up there a few weeks ago, amazing how square they made the stone wall.

We visited Nantes today and had to see the mechanical elephant. About 35ft high it was packed with passengers for its walk across the square.

We will be returning tomorrow to see the rest of the mechanical animals and to visit the parts of the old town that we didn’t manage to fit in today.

Nantes has some interesting areas to visit and a great public transport system with a tram stop just outside our campsite. €5 per person for an all day ticket and free at weekends. The U.K. could learn how to promote public transport. At home we have one bus per hour with the last one leaving at 6:20pm.
Would be grateful if you could post Post Code/Address of this place please

Know it well. Popular bike meet. Park up just to the left as you go over the bridges. Pies lovely
It's only 8 miles from where I live. I drive past on my way to the shops and, because it was such a beautiful day, I decided to stop on the way home and enjoy the moment 😀

Sorry. Other than Machines de L’Ile, Nantes, ( that is L’ile) I don’t have an address. A lot of info is available via Trip Advisor but I can’t provide the link. The Machines de L’ile also have their own website.

Hi Kiwi Brit. Yes its a steady climb from Igoumenitsa on the motorway. Then twisty main road towards Kalabaka then steep road up to Meteora and loop around back down. Great drive and views.

Stewart J Sadly, I have just found this beautiful bird dead on the ground underneath a window.
It's a Shining Cuckoo. I often hear them in my garden but rarely see them. This is only the second one I have ever seen and the other had met a similar fate. So you could say they are glazing challenged.
Shining Cuckoo 1.jpg

The shining cuckoo typically leaves New Zealand in April and will migrate to wintering areas on islands in the South-West Pacific, such as the Solomon Islands and New Guinea.
Although they are very attractive and have a lovely song, they have a nasty side to them. A female shining cuckoo lays a single egg in a host nest and removes a host egg. After hatching, the baby cuckoo ejects the host nestlings from the nest.

Hence the saying cookbook in the nest. I have had similar misfortune with birds trying to fly through the closed patio doors to the window on the other side of the room .I now keep the blind on that window low. Seems to solve the problem .the last one I thought was a fatal. I watched for about 15 line test before he got up looked around hopped about for a bit then flew off .
