Nearly got our ‘pitch’ robin to eat out of my hand!

Interested in this landscape, so looked it up but nothing comes up about The Shushings. Do you happen to know what causes the bumps (apart from the moles! 😆)?
As I am led to believe the "Hushings" although a very old name for hydrolic mining comes about in this part of Lancashire as this is the sound the water makes as it washes down the hill into yesterday's hollow. As the water washes down it takes the top soil off and dumps it in rows. Tomorrow's hushing rushes down the hill and knocks through the row of soil from yesterday and floods through in smaller Hushings again wash the topsoil with it.
The top soil needs to be removed so the miners can get at the Limestone beneath.
Others say the form of the landscape is because the Giant of Lancashire grabbed handfuls of earth to throw at the (mini) Giant of Yorkshire 😄.

Very interesting, thank you for all the information.

Sorry a bit boring but I am becoming obssessed with old doors. The thought of the people who walked through them in medaeval times, their trials and tribulations of life in those days. Makes my hairs on my arms stand on end.

Debs and I went for a trip out to Wells and I found lots of doors; tiny as people were short in those days. :)

Not boring at all Joy, we’ve been here, very quaint. I like doors as well, took loads of pictures of the amazing doors in Funchal, Madeira.
First two in Brixham, second two local shots.

This is hanging on our hallway wall. We have had it for 40 years. Taken from a old Arabs villa in what's know as The Bastakia. For about 20 years it was a coffee table? No idea of age but can assure you it's not an Ikea item.

Went to check out a winter pitch ( £355 for 2 months with EHU in December and January) on a site near Dunwich, Suffolk and saw this interesting combo.

Then a walk round Southwold and saw they have decorated the letter boxes with crochet hats.

We are at a Murvi rally this weekend at the Hereford Rowing Club campsite. Close to the town centre and beside the Wye. We have negotiated a rate of £8 per night - which isn't bad for a site with all the basic facilities except EHU. The club do cooked breakfasts and takeaway pizzas etc. In normal times there is even a bar.

Recommended place to visit and ideal for a rally. We have nearly 30 vans and it could take 60 or so more in our own little roped off field.

In “normal” times it was the habit of bikers to meet up at Barry Island on a Thursday evening.

No alcohol is involved, just the prodigious consumption of vast quantities of fish and chips or ice-cream, depending on the weather. On a good evening 30 to 40 bikers would attend. For the last year or so it has not been possible as Clubs were not meeting due to the Covid restrictions.

This week, circulation on social media announced that, from last evening, “normal” service would be resumed. However, It was far from normal with about 300 bikes in attendance. It was a lovely sunny, warm evening, and holidaymakers mixed with the bikers to see all the different makes. Everything was extremely good natured with lots of questions from the holiday makers. The meet lasted a couple of hours and gave everyone a boost in spirits, including the non-bikers, who were just fascinated to see so many different bikes in one place.

About 1830 hrs with we early arrivals.

I'm amused by the person on the right sitting on their own with their back to everyone.

Not today but not long ago, very spiritual place in Glastonbury.... it also had small chapel room but I felt wrong photographing it...... the alms houses. Wonder how large the family was that lived there.
