A photo of the day thread

Hi shrimp,, back when I ran a small petroleum depot , I fed 2 red legged partridge , they had large brood 13 babes , but over the course of the next week , stoats hawks etc and bad weather 12 had gone , I fed parents and babe for year , till the parents chased the 1 year old off too fend for himself
We are on a CS and they’ve had two female Partridge sitting, one was right by the back door of house and she got 11 off, hung around for couple of days then moved on, this one seems to like it here and is very friendly.
I hand raised a Partridge years ago, it came out of the egg with a deformed leg, I was told you cant hand rear Partridge. I succeeded and it would come to a whistle usually accompanied by my dogs, all three-a Terrier and a Labrador gundog and the Partridge would sunbathe on the lawn, it was quite a spectacle to see the game bird flat out in the heat with two dogs!

Ooooh where did this come from, as they say in my part of the world “it’s stottin doon” (for you gentile Southern folk that translates into torrential rain🤪)View attachment 512489
I bet you’re glad you parked on the gravel and not the grass.

That looks great. I wish I could find such paths near me.
Yes, it's proving very popular with locals and holidaymakers, probably because it goes along the coast, through apple, pear and kiwifruit orchards, pine forests, wetlands and, most importantly several vineyards where you can stop to imbibe.
Put it on your Bucket List!

Assuming you're in Dumfries, as I was last week, then there are many routes to choose from, maybe from either of these route finders.

What's the name of this app please
The first is Kamoot, this is free for most functions but I think you can subscribe for more.
The second is Strava, this is sign-up but is free for most functions.
I also use OS maps as they show all the route you can legally use.

Shopfront in Llanberis, appealed to my sense of humour, apologies if you have to scroll in to see signs above the boxers!
