A photo of the day thread

I am sure I read somewhere that "off-site" motorhoming was being stopped in Portugal and the GNR were fining folk and moving them on.

After two peaceful nights at Pego Altar, we moved to the waterside just passed Montargil...

...and now are parked up on the side of the Tego river in Abrantes.

After an amazingly reasonable priced lunch at the Aquapolis Restaurant, we are now relaxing just out of the sun.

Who on earth would want to park in a "carpark" for free when one could spend money parking in a "campsite"?

Was it worth putting the cover on for 20 days?
Yes sure was/is. Loads of stuff going on around here at home at the moment. Just Cant get to use it really now until possibly the new year! That will possibly be governed by the current situation we seem to have with the world at the moment too? We will have to wait and see.

Don't forget to inspect inside the moho regularly for condensation ... I checked ours once after putting a "breathable" cover on for a few days and found everything was running with water.

Thanks Guys ..will be be back up there over the week end . Got some stuff to store at the yard so I will check it out then . It's the first time we have used a cover to be honest. Lots of folks run them down and then there are those that swear by them. It's a test for us as it was part of the package when we bought it. The original owner spent a fair few bob on it  having the dome panel and a clear solar panel done plus access doors too.
If It becomes a pain...It will appear on here in the Classifieds ! :giggle:(y)

We have never used one on our motorhome, as we use it too regularly, but we have used them on caravans we have owned.

We bought custom made ones with a soft lined interior to prevent scratching and rubbing. They were “breathable” and had door access in the correct place to allow entry. They worked very well over a number of years.

They protected the outside of the van very well and we never had damp in the interior.

A bit of an eyesight test this one, I'm calling it "Spot the Sparrow Hawk". Just after my car starts moving after the cars coming the other way have gone a Sparrow Hawk plunges into the hedge on the left chasing a bird. It then flies ahead of me down the lane, gliding at times only inches above the road. It finally takes refuge in a tree on the left. On a local lane yesterday near my house. Watch it full screen if you can. If you are using a phone - don't bother!

Won’t bother then. 😳

Might have a few nights at Beni, what site are you on ?
We are on Villasol, plenty of empty pitches only one shower block open, but seems to be coping fine. Short stay you should get the ACSI rate. No dogs allowed.
