A photo of the day thread

Today is my first day out for a walk in 5 weeks spotted this fella

Bought this probably about 14 years ago at an auction ? ever since it’s been on the “to do” list whilst in the shed.
Today I’ve separated all the joints luckily the old wood glue softened up with a bit of water so no damage done.
Probably take a lot longer to strip the gold paint off after all the joints have been cleaned up.

Few more of my model railway. Very much work in progress but it's running now. Been in progress for years but have done more in last few weeks due to lock down.

movan - Joy - search Google for photos of heron's nests and if you should happen to think they look a tad untidy, then Google stork's nests!

Better day today, no goose chasing me only some idiot who try to ram me on my bike whilst riding through a pinch point in the road, he seemed to think it was his road and he had right of way so could force me off the road.

So to nicer things a virtual prize if any knows who this is? A better prize if you can tell me where she is?

Strictly speaking, and to be totally correct, the statue is in Roughlee. Do I get half a prize?
It's actually on Blacko Bar Rd. so I can keep a quarter prize.
PS. icantremember forfits the prize for cheating. Googling the picture does not qualify for a prize. However he gets to keep it for honesty.

Are you going to have a go at re-caning the seat?

We had a similar chair to yours about 10 years ago and bought a kit that included instructions. Bit daunting initially but stuck to it and have done quite a few since.

This is one of our later chairs, bought as part of a job lot from an auction room for £1. Scraped back with a penknife, wirewooled and waxed. Caning took about 20 hours .
