We are having a couple of nights at the Start Bay C&MC site at Torcross in Devon. It wasn't planned but the weather forecast was too good to miss the opportunity and it's only an hour from home. :)

We walked along the coastal path to Hallsands today. A typical coastal path - lots of up and down and some of it very steep with lots of steps. When we got there Charlie had a swim and a roll on the beach.

Hallsands was the village washed away in a storm in January 1917 after the gravel bank protecting it was dredged away to make the Plymouth Breakwater. When we first came here thirty years ago you could visit the remaining houses but not any longer. The access road has been washed away.

It was even warmer than expected and I'm annoyed for missing the first opportunity this year to wear shorts! :) But we cooled off at the end in the South Hams Brewery at the Stokely Farm Shop next door to the site. It is a working brewery and serves a fine and very reasonably priced pint. Just £5 for one and half pints. :)

The place is in Brit Stops and should be quiet at night though it is busy during the day. It would be good for one night though sadly the brewery isn't open in the evening. However, they do open for groups when pre-arranged but they don't have a huge amount of parking for a rally though the C&MC site would be an option - but not a cheap one. :)

Absolute stonker of a morning here in the best city in the world.
Top photo, Tower Bridge at 06:15 .
Second photo, the Shard from Bermondsey St , taken 30 minutes later.
Laika the wonder dog has started waking me earlier now it's lighter. I feel a bit miffed but once I'm out I'm grateful she did.

Love the juxtaposition between the ultra modern shard and the Georgian and Victorian buildings!

We will miss your early morning London photos when you move.

Well after 16 years together, and being beaten into submission, we finally tied the knot yesterday. It was a lovely day, the venue & Registrars at Weybridge Surrey were really great which made the whole experience so memorable. Thanks to TinaL's Son Luke, and cousin Brenda for being there to witness the event.

Many congrats.
