A photo of the day thread

Ten acre wood I thought so, my partners favorite books. (y)
Ten acre wood ?
Hundred acre wood in the stories
500 acre wood in the real world

We are honoured to live near Pooh Sticks Bridge

Every day family memories are made

Another great picture RC, My lovely lady has been doing her best to get me to read the books, perhaps I should now take her up on it so at least I will know where Pooh lives.....(y) When I told her of your location to Pooh Sticks bridge she was drooling.;)

This is not so much of a picture of the day as ones for my lifetime.

2 weeks ago little 13 month old Ana Maria was walking great. Then suddenly she was seen to be in pain and couldn't even lie on her back, with no chance of her sitting properly or standing and walking.
After visits to Salford A&E then onto Royal Manchester Children's A&E she was admitted for scans.
2 days later she was found to have a large tumour at the base of her spine and others throughout the spine and in her lungs. Pathology confirmed the diagnosis, and exactly what the tumour was, and they started her on the first cycle of Chemo last Friday/Sat/Sun.
She got got home this Friday evening. It is absolutely astonishing how quickly the tumours have started shrinking back.
She has a long way to go, but it is wonderful to see her beginning to crawl and smile again.
We are so lucky in so many ways.
If you have a few bob spare, please think of helping the Manchester Children's Hospital charity ( https://rmchcharity.org.uk/ )
( or any children's hospital near you). They are making phenomenal progress with children's cancer treatment.
I spent 42 years in NHS Pathology, and often thought of leaving to get more money elsewhere. I am so glad I didn't.

Sabino, best wishes to Ana Maria and the rest of your family. I hope she has a speedy recovery.

Gosh.. that puts things into perspective doesn't it... :(

Really hope that all goes well vor ghe little one. I can't begin to imagine having to watch her go through chemotherapy.

Much love and strength to you all. X

@movan and @scousebird
Many thanks for your kind words. And to those who have left ratings. It is very much appreciated.
I posted the pictures because we are astonished at her progress and we are all feeling very positive whilst understanding what lies ahead.
To us they are very happy pictures.

@Sabino
A horrible experience for you and, of course, Anna Maria.

We send her our best wishes for a speedy and full recovery.

Having had one scare, fortunately a false alarm, with our grand-daughter, we can appreciate what you must be going through.

Good luck.

@Sabino certainly puts things into perspective sending positive thoughts and what beautiful photos of Anna Marie I hope that the treatment continues to work and keeps her out of pain.

The canal beside the C&CC site near Devizes. We are here for the week with 15+ Murvis. Visits to various pubs and a brewery tour scheduled to keep us busy. :)

A few pics from our trip to Krakow this weekend. Not a m/h holiday but a fly and stay. Dry weather but very cold.

The second one shows two of the many figures posed on the support wires for a footbridge over the River Vistula.

The first, some of the carriages for tourists in the main square of the old town.

Two more from Krakow.

The first is a bronze model of Wawel Castle. The castle is well worth a visit but difficult to get a photo, hence the model.

The second is Martyr’s Square near the Jewish Quarter. It was immortalised in the film Schildler’s List. The scene shows Jews being lined up one in front of the other to be shot, allowing one bullet to kill more than one person. The iconic “Girl in the Red Coat” appears in the scene.
.
The chairs, of various sizes in bronze, symbolise the furniture being thrown out of Jewish homes before they were murdered.

We also visited Oscar Schindler’s factory museum, but no photo’s were allowed there.

A sobering visit. Now looking forward to some sun and happy times.

We have just moved on from there. If you walk to the The Barge Pub , look out for the llamas at the top of the field.
Enjoy

Enjoy the brewery tour. Those wonderful shire horses delivering the kegs. A memory we will always remember.

Looking back at the dunes outside Silloth as the sun came up and burnt the fog off.

Nice picture!

We have both been going to Silloth since Sunday School trips in the 1950s and have been trying to figure out where you were stood taking the photo.
The best we can come up with is you must have been out on the sands looking back at the dunes somewhere between West Silloth and Mawbray ?

Got it in one. The Banks Mill Nursery has their own CS now and we had a long weekend there. The dogs loved it, leaving the site and being in the dunes, then onto the beach straight away.

We had just walked straight out from the site through the dunes and straight on towards the sea at low tide.

@Kevinthecat
If its the camp site on the opposite side of the ship, we tried to book in there but its so busy and almost fully booked for the rest of the year!

We did a walk through last year, small site but fabulous position for the harbour!

Yes it is that camp site and hens teeth come to mind when trying to book. It's only 30 pitches and so many people book it because they have children at uni in Britstol. Plus Bristol is a great city to visit.
