I used to fish near that lighthouse and got soaked on many an occasion.
So did I when I were a lad,(remember the long walk along the pier to get something we had left back in the car!) we used to actually catch some decent fish to take home, but we stopped the long drive down there (because of the large concrete blocks they dumped around the pier end) and to Seaford Beach also as the catches were minimal, bet they are even worse now.
Got some great album pictures though.

I was out looking for new fishing spots today in the Cognac region when I came across memorial to two officers of 'Operation Frankton' more commonly known as 'The Cockleshell Heroes'. The memorial is dedicated to Major "Blondie" Hasler and Corporal Bill Sparks who passed through the village with the assistance of the local Resistance on their way from the raid on German ships in Bordeaux to Ruffec where they were helped to return to the UK by other Resistance members which included an English lady who was prominent in that area.

The photos aren't good because of glare (I did not have a polarising filter with me) but they give an idea of the information displayed.
