If you go down to the woods today, you might see funster Ted, can you spot him?

Spending the night here in Newhaven to allow Dad to do some bits on his van on his drive (difficult with us in the way ;) ) before we both leave tomorrow heading to a Beer and Cider festival and then Upton Blues Festival.

Although only 5 minutes down the road this is the first time we’ve stayed here. £3 a night is a bargain I think for this view.

Had nothing worthy of posting for a couple of days. Following a recent "zoom" through Rouen I thought I would chance my arm again today. I have to admit that, that was a mistake. Still I got the chance to look at all the old locomotives stored at Sotteville. Poor picture below you will have to open it up to see them. Don't be deceived by the empty bit of road next to me.

The day had started dull and I decided to make my way towards Saint Palais sur Mer for a couple of days on the beach. I took advantage of the autoroutes where no toll was payable. On the normal single carriageway no divider roads the locals and many foreign, particularly LGV drivers are having difficulty with the figures composing 80.

Tonight I am parked in a lovely spot with room for 4. Rubbish bins but nothing else. I am still on my 2017 All the Aires books and you will find it in that edition North on page 214, No 182.

I wandered down to the site of the lavabo and old moulins. It only needed Moley, Badger and Toad.

After leaving Orbec I was quite surprised to see a red English double decker bus, London taxi and a couple of phone boxes. The must have been here a while as the bus had a corrugated roof supplement and they all looked as if they could do with a birthday. Well I have tried umpteen times to upload that picture to no avail. I will try tomorrow it is only 3G here.

Edging towards Tour de France territory. Not sure where next report will be from. Perhaps I should start a thread down in the Continetal section.

We noticed a number of camper vans parked here when we came in on the ferry and wondered how they all got in as it's restricted by height barriers. Can you just turn up then and pay to stay overnight?

Good afternoon

The day dawned overcast but not unpleasant. I took a short walk around the tiny village and then set course for the coast but not intending to reach there today.

I decided to stay at La Flèche tonight and arrived here around 14.30. I was not rushing having stopped for fuel (I no longer buy Supermarché gazole and presently feed Fanny on Total equilibrium or whatever they call the better grade) and a convenient cimetière at Roupperoux-le-Coquet supplied my water uplift.

Both yesterday and today I have seen no end of British sports cars, E types, Aston Martin DBs, MGs, Triumphs many UK Reg but also from all over Europe. Approaching Le Mans the circuit was very busy and I can only guess that a major vintage show was/is on. Plenty of pictures on the dashcam but not sure if I can take stills from the video.

First here is yesterday's double decker.

Now the views behind Fanny at the Aire de Camping Car, La Flèche. Free water and free dump. I visited here two years ago in Helen and supplied the mosquitos evening treat which prompted home made fly screens. This time they are built in and I have an electric killing machine.

Mill/Chateau arrangement.

Fountain/geezer (not old)

Lots of advance warning of the coming Tour de France with road closures etc and pretty good unambiguous signing for the new speed limits. I have to report that in my experience they don't seem to be being particularly well received by some!

Towards the coast and perhaps a tanning session tomorrow. Tour starts Saturday.:france:Clive:france:
