A photo of the day thread

Stopped over at Lizard Point last night. Got a couple of photos before it started lashing it down**.

**Yeah, technically not a photo of today, but I had no tinterwebs.

Then, about 2am the rain stops. I can't sleep, so I opened the roof vent over the bed (letting a shower of water in... wifey not impressed), squeezed my top half through and took this (with a phone):

And today, made it to Land's End... so I can claim this:

(Yeah, by MH is easy, and it was 3 weeks ago I did John O'Groats)

Then we went around to St Ives. There are loads of those Portuguese Man O War jellyfish washed up on the beach.

Ha ha, I think I pulled up alongside you today! Wondered if it was you, but didn't see any signs of life, so headed further up. In Pitlochry now :)
ya know I thought that was you I saw the van stop and then drive up the hill I was sitting reading in the van

Aw, that's a shame! Would have chapped your door if I'd been certain it was your van. Always find it difficult to tell if anyone's at home in bigger vans, not like my wee goldfish bowl :D Happy travels and maybe bump into you again!

the last photo is a stake for each person shot during the first world war for cowardice, all now fully pardoned but not till 2006

our first ever visit to the National Memorial Arboretum, much bigger than we expected, an emotional day

Today was Tintagel Castle. Not much of the castle left, but the views are great.

Our last overnight stop before home is Damage Barton near Woolacombe. Sea view, but it's very exposed. The wind is buffeting the van a hell of a lot. I've put the silver screen on (outside version). I'm not sure it'll last the night as the gusts keep getting under it... and it'll probably take my windscreen wipers with it!

I'm not sure that 'loving it' is the appropriate 'rating' David, but you know what I mean... between this and the other thread I'm in floods for a lovely Funster and also for the maltreated generation. Thank you for sharing.

Hi nice to meet you at tintagel this morning happy travels Rod
Nice to meet you too Rod.

I spotted Marrod from their Funster sticker. :)

We too noted the £4 for overnight motorhome parking in Tintagel. Might have to use that some time.

Tintagel today £4.00 24hrs happy travels Rod
Where abouts in Tintagel is this car park?
Are there dedicated MH spaces or just use existing parking bays?
Thanks

It's the King Arthur's Arms car park. Don't worry, it's large. The area to the left is signposted for Motorhomes, but also 'overflow', so expect cars there too in the day.

Here's Tower Bridge in all its glory at 06:00 this morning at low tide .
Laika the wonderdog was scratching at my leg telling me to throw her ball again for her but I kept focussed and took the photo.
