A photo of the day thread

273 miles to Edinburgh, that is quite a hike. Is that Orkney that can be seen in the distance.
I believe it's the island of stroma, but yes Dunnet head is the most northern point of the UK so quite a hike

All the way up something had been nipping my toe I thought I'd wait till I got to the top to take shoe of and investigate, I found a Fiddlesticksing stanley blade in my shoe how it got there I've no idea i must have dropped it in there at some Point but it's removed a small slice of big toe.

That may take more than a dicht with a sponge.

I've only done one Munro, that was Cairn Gorm, from a tent. It nearly killed me! (I was still working full-time so not very fit.) The last bit from about the Ptarmigan up to the plateau I was trying to do 10 steps at a time but I was so tired I couldn't actually count to ten... Always a lovely view from the top of a munro (weather permitting) - congratulations on getting there NR :clap2:
Hope your toe's not too bad, mud has healing properties

The last bit was really hard going and the wind was unbelievable thought I was going to get blown off great feeling at the top though

I'm confused - I thought the real coffee morning was today but "our" MHF virtual one was tomorrow?

You are (I think) correct LLL, the Jasmin "live" one is today, the MHF "virtual" one and the Big Macmillan Day are tomorrow, but I'm busy tomorrow so just getting in early... ;) with my coffee, and with a gentle reminder :)

Just a thought ,could you have stayed overnight where you parked for the climb?. Do a little hillwalking and venturing up that way with my mate before weather really turns.

@Northernraider .... Only a true man of the north could climb 3000ft with a Stanley blade sawing through his toe and describe it as 'nipping', but then be more concerned about his muddy boots :notworthy2::notworthy2:

Loved your photos and we possibly could have passed each other at some point, I've just come round clockwise (W-E)
