a WSC - Mont St Michel 1920.jpg
Not Motorhome related. I just got back from a 3 day cycle trip in Brittany and Normandy. The new boardwalk path makes one heck of an approach road to Mont St Michel. Apparently you're not supposed to cycle on it between 10am and 6pm but the French were just ignoring that... so we joined them.

I remember the days when you could drive right up to the Mont and park your motorhome on the causeway overnight. Those were the days!

Is it in Groups, can I join please?

The fact that you want to join means you are ALREADY in it.. :) It's just a way of asking a question you wouldn't normally dare ask .. by putting ...... 'NMC alert and a smiley' after it you get away with murder. ;)

E.G. Hi Houdini .. you are looking good on your avatar ... is it just a good holiday rest you have had ...or have you been having a facelift? NMC alert :)

Welcome. X

GULP, Movan, tough initiation to the NMC, I can see I will have to get some practice in! :giggler:

Spitbank Fort on our crossing from Portsmouth to St Malo. You can just make out people on the steps, looking back at the Ferry. It's probably a party, I think you can rent it for functions.

I think one of the forts is still a high end restaurant with a boat that takes you out and back.

And I think they do a walk out to one of them & back once a year....I remember seeing the photos but they don't publicise it like they used to due to H&S:rolleyes:

Normally the first "set of wavers" you get when returning from a deployment. You can see them waving whilst you line the sides of a warship When returning back to Pompey harbour in "procedure alpha". You're not meant to, but always worth trying to get in a cheeky little wave back. :cautious:

Today this caught my attention, a bronze statue of a cleaning lady at Rjukan, Norway. I walked past it and had to nip back and take a photo.

Been trying to work out what the red thing was hanging on her back..... doh....

Yes, a red cross bench we have seen them in a number of places in Norway. Sorry it did ruin my char lady picture but this was her best angle :)

The Womens Tour has just come through our village as part of their 1st stage. They're about 85 miles in at this point, 6 to go, and still going bloody fast.

Pictures are straight from the camera, I know they would benefit from some tidying up but I can't be bothered (y)

It was raining hard & I didn't want to get wet (wimp), but this was a fascinating vehicle if you can make any sense of it from the photo (yesterday, A82 Loch Tulla Viewpoint)
A little stretch further on I saw it turning up the track towards Glen Etive

Looks peaceful on the Tamar ,but was a bit lumpy crossing the sound back up next day or so to renew moorings.

Oh I love that bridge! - divides Cornwall from England. Very symbolic.
