Love those Japanese Maples :)
A few years ago a fence panel between ourselves and our neighbours collapsed so we decided between us to fill the gap with plants in pots. The red leaved maple is taller than the other one but in amongst the other plants they look like parts of the same plant :) It all looks pretty effective, especially when everything is in full leaf :)

Not a great photo but felt the moon was sort of strange tonight.. remember someone saying it was about to do something on the 14th?

It will be the closest to Earth on the 14th and it won't happen again for some time, hope the sky is clear that night.

Not taken today, but uploaded for today. Tyne Cot Cemetery and Memorial to the Missing, near Passchendaele in Belgium, taken on our visit in October 2013. Around 44,000 of our war dead are commemorated here, of whom three quarters have no known grave.

I remember when I was a probationary PC trying to prove myself. Was with my senior PC when we actually caught a burglar in the act in a 4th floor flat. He legged it out of a window on to a ledge, Out you go son dont let him get away. I was told.
He got away, never to be seen again.

View attachment 132761 Taken at Hoogecrater just outside Ypres in June this year. I was staggered by how well tended these memorials are.
It's the same all through the Normandy WW2 cemeteries. All politicians should be forced to walk through them....all.
